Pakistan vs India T20 World Cup 2014. H/L post#246

No...

You play by conditions whether it is 50 overs or 20overs or a test match...

now lets talk about specific conditions that we are facing...
you have to use 2 new balls from both ends so you will not get reverse swing ever as the ball will stay new
plus you have pathetic medium pacers who cannot bowl 142k+ to get the reverse swing....
plus these are low bounce turning conditions where the ball is staying low...so spinners will be a bonus..even if they get for few 6s they will have always give you wickets on these pitches

plus since the ball stays relatively firm as we use 2 new balls from both ends, fast bowlers ball will come on bat a bit more easily
and on top of every thing you have a pathetic pace attack....you dont haave any malingas, steyns in your team...

in these conditions and with technicalities described above, A TEAM LIKE PAKISTAN SHD ALWAYS PLAY WITH NO MORE THAN 2 FAST BOWLERS whether it is a test match, 50 overs or 20 overs....period.

Why do we lose to India in world cups I dont know, mental block or something but to say that it is because of nerves, is it? Pakistan has beaten them in other international competition than why were the nerves not there. Why were the nerves not there when Pakistan won the Australasia cup with that sizzling six which is even today remembered by everyone. We have beaten them in Champions trophy as well. Only last month despite the nerves they manage to beat the Indians in a very tight match now if nerves were there they should have surely lost. Arent these international tournaments. The trouble is that Indians to satisfy their ego has narrowed it down to the fact that we have not beaten them ever in world cup to hide the overall inferior record they have against us in ODI's. yes we have lost to them every time in world cups but we won two of them one when we lost to them in early rounds. We should be proud of that fact more than anything else. Last time when they beat us in Asia cup and we won the cup the Indians were saying that beating us meant more to them than winning Asia cup. Yeah right, pigs also fly.

Bottom line, we might be out of tournament tomorrow but we are the only bunch of fans who take extreme pleasure in destroying their team every time they lose.

It is not fans that destroy team but it is cricket management, selectors and selection procedures who are not only destroying Pakistani team but name of Pakistan.

I do not know if I should call a team 'Pakistani team' when players get selected to play for country on nepotism, provincialism, influences, likes and dislikes of those in management and selection team, etc. If Pakistan has to rise than:

Pakistan should make selection procedure automated. This can be done by having ICC type rating of each player playing domestic cricket in Pakistan (or domestic ranking of players), based on their last 20 or so innings they played. Then:

7 top rated batsmen should be in team.
2 top rated wicket-keeper should be in team.
3 top rated fast bowlers should be in team.
2 top rated spin bowlers should be in team.
3 top rated all rounders should be in team.

Anyhow, when selecting playing team of 11 ... there should be:

Top 5 rated batsmen should be in playing team.
Top rated wicket-keeper should be in playing team.
Top 2 rated fast bowlers should be in playing team.
Top 1 or 2 rated spin bowlers (depending on requirement) should be in playing team.
Top 1 or 2 rated all rounders (depending on requirements) should be in playing team.

[Captain should be one who deserve to be in team on their domestic ranking as player mentioned above].

Rating of players should have rules that cannot be manipulated and should take into account players fielding ability too (a bad fielder can make team lose matches regardless of how good batsmen and bowlers team have). Rating procedure should be such that anyone with little knowledge and mathematical skill can work out rating easily.

Actual rating should be transparent, and should be done by independent body on players figures ... actual performance while playing cricket, taking conditions of game into account. After non-controversial rating is done, there should be no ifs and buts when selecting team.

Since selection would be automated, there would be no cause of discontent amongst anyone, and players would know that if they go down in rating (play badly) they would be out of team. So, all would put their maximum efforts and there would be no politics.

If for any reason a player is not selected to play in playing 11, then that should be captain and manager decision, and reasons should be clearly given to justify decision, so that no ambiguity is left.

A player may not play or get selected due to fitness and that is all, as form would be obvious from their domestic ranking.
