Well we are a hospitable bunch. Paki batsmen got together and said hey if the curator doesnt give the Indians fast and bouncy pitches then we will. So basically theyre 'emulating' a fast and bouncy pitch for you guys.

Yes. The meter picked up a huge nick the same time ball kissed the bat. They showed it a couple of times almost immediately after his dismissal.

I was impressed by the bowling of RP Singh and Zaheer Khan.
Too bad the pitch did not offer them more support.
Zaheer esp seemed like giving his best.
Hope the Indians keep chipping at Pak wickets.

Well played by Younis and Moyo, I hope they can see through the day, but I doubt it, this pitch is certainly not as flat as the Lahore one. Already we have seen some inconsistent bounce.
The Malik dismissal was shameful, even after having been dropped. When batsmen get a life on such a placid track they must capitalise. Unfortunately Malik time and again throws it away. If Rana can be dropped after just one match, I fail to see why Malik should be held to another standard.

Seriously, its a bit early to give the verdict on the pitch…but the ease with which Y&Y have been batting points to the direction of this being another “fast & bouncy” wicket.

For most of the part the first session belonged to Pak batsmen. Malik basically threw his wicket away, commited a childish mistakes..Butt looked good and for a while when pakistan were 62/2 things looked as if they were going india's way and then tendalya missed a run out....from there the tide has turned around and looks like a long day for the bowlers..as usual good batting by younis and youhana...

The ease with with Y&Y have been batting says nothing about their own abilities ofcourse. Their abilities are all gifted to them in the form of flat pitches.

RP Singh has had a good debut so far, he looked the best of the lot, Zaheer was not far behind either and quiet deservedly they both have a wicket each at the moment. Irfan Pathan failed to keep the ball full and was slammed to all parts of the ground, Kumble and Harbhajan too never posed enough problems to the batsmen. Good session of cricket, The pitch seems to be pretty evenly paced and there definitely was some assistance to the bowlers early on. India have done reasonably well knocking down the openers with not too many on the board but once again the Younis-Yousuf pair has enabled the recovery and is now looking seriously threatening!

In India's fast bowling pool, I think the prevailing mood is, "when it rains, it pours". From the heady days of Kapil Dev and then Srinath, where they only had right hand medium pace bowlers and looked with awe at Wasim Akram, now they have three medium pacers in the line up and all of them are left arm. Wah ji wah...
And I think Zahir Khan figured that since his career is not going anywhere, so he should emulate the new sensation, Irfan Pathan. So what does he do? He goes out and gets curls in his hair... so now he looks like an aging version of Irfan Pathan. Shabash he bhaeeeeeee.....

India will have to restrict Pakistan to a total less than 450 if they are to justify their selection of 5 bowlers. It would be embarrassing for them to be still chasing a 600 odd score despite the extra bowlers. Not to mention the pressure of knowing that tail starts at Dhoni coming in at number 6.

And, if I were Younas, the first thing I’d do after entering the dressing room is to slap Yousaf. His start-stop running almost made it 73-3. Ullo ka …

The pitch is definetly different than the one at Lahore...Harbhajan is already getting a lot of turn from the pitch. Malik...well I've always said he's a good player but not an opener...and he keeps making stupid mistakes in every game after getting starts....Salman...got out on a beautiful ball by Zaheer no doubt.
The worst thing after seeing how Pathan and to some extent RP SIngh were swinging the new ball is that why Pakistan dropped Rana...who is so good when he gets the ball to swing...and he would have been ideal in these conditions especially against Sehwag early in his innings...sadly we get to see the pedestrian bowling of Razzaq...who is gonna be as useless as Sami...but at least they gave Asif a chance thank god!

Do you remember Salman Butt doing the same against Australia I think? Butt was very much criticised for that, now Malik copies that and Yousuf tried too.
As far as Yousuf's running is concerned, he really is the worst player to be a 'partner' in our camp, more than Inzi.... Inzi bechara bila waja badnaam hai.
