Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
To be honest we have only got one talented young batsman right now, Babar Azam and his loss due to injury is a big blow
Umar Akmal is talented but not taking responsibility with the bat (don’t think he’s good against spin)
Sharjeel is a hack or slogger (and I am beginning to agree with Waleed now). Manzoor is not the answer either. If these two fail in the next games of Asia Cup, Shehzad (another unreliable player) will be back
Asad Shafiq and Azhar Ali are mainly test players. Their game is not suited to limited overs cricket (However could try Asad as a stabiliser in the middle overs of ODI). Younis and Misbah will obviously play tests
Malik is too inconsistent
Sarfraz hasn’t done much with the bat of late
Haris Sohail is over-rated but could be tried again
Sami Aslam made 45 in the only ODI he’s played so far
Hafeez has been our most consistent batsman across all formats in recent times (which is saying something)
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
This is not as easy as Jadeja is making it out be. Afridi is well supported but he has also been a very heavily criticised player.
But the problem is that his pretty face sells everything from Shampoo to toothpaste, from bubble gum to hajmoula, from rice to fair and lovely, from calling cards to lawn suits. He is in hundred different ads in Pakistan. So it is strategically not easy to rest him due to pressure from sponsors. When big corporate firms invest millions in a player, they don’t want him to get booted out.
It probably takes one little call from Pepsi to PCB to persuade them. So it’s largely all about money and corporate blackmailing that comes to Afridi’s rescue.
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
Now I really hope Waleed doesn’t see this post. He’s the only Afridi fan I like, lol.
Oye Waleedeee, don’t mind okay. We’re still pinkie friends. ![]()
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
The 6th word appears to be out of place?
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
Are u reading from left to right or from right to left? lol
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
need to boot out players like hafeez, afridi, malik, akmals.
at least let nawaz play and give him some time to settle and take charge in batting. hafeez is useless as a batsmen just like ahmed shahzad
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
Now people will start highlight what Ajay Jadeja says about SHAHID KHAN AFRIDI
When you have so many haters people are ought to say bad things about that guy
Afridi is the superstar of Pakistan cricket and will always remain and btw we are winning the Asia cup
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
And the same people who are criticizing Afridi were dancing on Afridi 2 years ago on this forum when he scored those two sixes lulz](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=lulz)
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
and the World T20?
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
Bhai no one hates (that is too strong a word) Afridi but the frustrating thing for us is the way he gets out repeatedly in brain dead fashion
Ask yourself a simple Q
Was the second run really necessary (vs India)?
Is it really necessary to hit every ball for six regardless of the match situation?
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
Meanwhile Kohli fined 30% of the match fee for being…typical Kohli :chai:
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
Mohammad Amir was such a class that Yuvi was not able to read his bowling even. At the end of the match Kohli and Amir was shaking hand like true sportsman. India-Pak public should let the match remain just a match. Even if India loses match to Pakistan in final, I want her to lose against only Amir. That guy was defending the most indefensible score put up ever.
Congrats PCB for giving that boy another chance.
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
Come on…I don’t hate Afridi. In fact, on the contrary, I think he’s quite good looking.
The geezer is still very fit for 42-43 years old.
Now when I grow up - I want to be as fit as Afridi. :k:
Re: Pakistan vs India- 27th February 2016- Asia Cup
Very fit for 42-43 years old? but afridi is only 35. ![]()
