It could be Sehwag or Dravid as well. But Shahid nah! he will not get to play all of the ODIs for sure.

Its about "FIRST" One dayer.
It should be Yasir!
I just registered for free sms alerts (wicket alert) on the following site.
Its KOOOOOOOOOOL!
Great to see the result from the match yesterday, this really gives us options in the future. I think Imran Nazir, Taufeeq and even Faisal Iqbal and Nauman are not far from the national team. The batting oetions look promising,.
The day of Judgement is approching quickly.
Be prepared.
So how many more hours to go exactly? I have no clue, help me out here ppl.
Wow! The way Pakistani bowlers were getting thrashed for as long as I saw the Indian innings, I had no hope for the Pakistani batting, plus chasing is their biggest weakness. But they proved me wrong and in the morning when I saw the scoreboard…I was shocked.
Imran Nazir should have definetly been selected for the Pakistan 15 member squad. He has been in devestating form since the Quid-e-Azam trophy…there was no reason why he shouldn’t have been selected. Oh well, If Afridi, Yasir, Imran don’t perform well in the first 2 matches, Nazir should get a chance in the next 3 ODI’s. ![]()

*All the sheep on Gupshup will now start ranting about how Taufeeq Umer is not in the one day team! I have been saying it for the past year; any batsman who can make runs in Test cricket can score in one day cricket, specially someone who is as technically correct and patient as Taufeeq. The selectors are a bunch of sheep too, like the most of you unfortunately;"OH My GOD, he scores 25 runs off 50 balls....test player....blah blah.." Shut up. People, That Is All.*

I can't sleep either. Will they start playing already. why are they sleeping when i can't. Not fair.
Betting frenzy over Pakistan-India cricket series](http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/040312/3/27jf.html)
ISLAMABAD (AFP) - The historic cricket series between Pakistan and India has not only raised peace hopes between the two South Asian rivals but is also turning out to be a betting blitz for notorious bookmakers of the game.
Bookies said they were anticipating a bumper gambling spree across the country as the two teams prepare to cross swords in the first one-day international in the southern port city of Karachi on Saturday.
“Huge sums, millions of dollars, will be wagered on the two teams in the first match in Karachi,” said a Rawalpindi-based bookie who identified himself by his alias ‘Master’.
He recalled last year’s World Cup match between Pakistan and India in South Africa when he said he handled bets worth more than 10 million rupees (more than 170,000 dollars).
“But the bubbling excitement now portends a far greater turnover,” he said.
The bookie said the rush would peak when the rates open in the Indian city of Bombay on the night before the match.
Punters will put money on everything: from the weather and pitch behaviour to the toss and which bowler will open the attack and how many runs will be made by each top batsmen.
“In fact the betting pattern will change as the match progresses and fortunes fluctuate,” said a bookie in the eastern city of Lahore nicknamed Gullu.
There are no exact estimates on how many bookies operate in the country but police sources said the number ran into thousands.
They are active in almost every neighbourhood even though gambling is banned and the violation is punishable with imprisonment of up to seven years and a fine of 7,000 rupees, said a Karachi-based police officer.
“I have come to know that bookies have started betting on who will win,” said former Pakistani cricket hero Imran Khan.
“This business is unfortunate, but you cannot stop it,” Khan told AFP.
Cricket gambling has tarnished the image of the game which was once regarded as a gentleman’s game.
In the past several years corruption scandals linked to charges that bookies influenced players and bribed them to fix matches have played rocked the sport.
The match-fixing scandal prompted the International Cricket Council (ICC) to form an anti-corruption unit to curb the menace.
In May 2000 the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) banned prolific batsman Salim Malik from playing the game at any level and holding any cricket-related office following recommendations of a match-fixing inquiry conducted by Justice Malik Mohammad Qayyum.
The Qayyum inquiry, conducted between September 1998 and October 1999, found evidence of Malik’s involvement and also recommended a life ban for former pacer Ataur Rehman and fined six others, including former captains Waqar Younis and Wasim Akram.
Wasim, who retired last year as one the greatest left-arm seamers ever, was also barred from leading Pakistan.
Former South African captain Hansie Cronje, who later died in a plane crash, and former Indian captain Mohammad Azharuddin were banned for life from playing cricket for their involvement in match-fixing.
A four-member team of ICC’s Anti Corruption Unit is already in Pakistan to watch over the conduct of the players and submit a report to their headquarters.
PCB chief executive Ramiz Raja said the watchdog unit will observe if the players abide by the rules forbidding use of mobile phones in dressing rooms during matches and also do not come into contact with outsiders during the game.
Taufeeq Umar was smashing every ball bcuz he thought that he can get a chance to play ODI's too:D
I hope Balaji and Pathan plays...
Pakistan will beat the hell out of them:D

Spot on. I am on record as saying that Taufeeq should be the FIRST name as an opener in both forms of cricket, **** the statistics. Form is temporary class is permanent. My view is that the opening paire for Pakistan should be the two left handers Taufeeq and Farhat with Hameed coming in at one down. Stick with quality and leave Sunday park players like Afridi out of the equation. With a quality batting line up 5 bowlers will be enough...it's not like Afridi's bowling is likely to make a difference anyway.

Pakistan’s cricketers ready to exploit chinks in Indian armour](http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/040312/3/27r8.html)
KARACHI (AFP) - Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul Haq said his team was ready to exploit India’s weak bowling to take his side to a stunning victory in the opening of historic series between the south Asian rivals.
Inzamam told a news conference Friday ahead of the two team’s first encounter for 14 years Saturday that he hoped to follow up on the success of the Pakistan A side who humbled India with a six-wicket victory in a practice match.
“We would definitely take inspiration from the performance of our youngsters and would definitely exploit their weak bowling attack, but you can’t judge them from just one match,” he said.
“We have worked on their weak points but that does not mean we would take them lightly.”
The restive southern port of Karachi, hosting its first high profile match for three years, is under tight security for the match. Last year South Africa and New Zealand refused to play in the city due to security fears.
Some 5,500 policemen and 1,500 paramilitaries have been deployed in the city to provide security for the Indian team led by Sourav Ganguly.
“I can’t say anything on security, whether they would be suffocated by the extra security but I can talk only about what would happen on the field,” said Inzamam, whose side routed Bangladesh and New Zealand but lost to South Africa in home one-day series last year.
Both India and Pakistan have strong batting line ups, while the home team is pinning hopes on fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar.
“We know Shoaib is our spearhead but we need to put score on the board to give him a chance,” said the Pakistan captain.
Ganguly had stated on arrival in Lahore that his team would derail the “Rawalpindi Express” – Shoaib’s nickname – but Inzamam was adamant his bowling star would remain intact.
“We expect him to do well for us,” the Pakistani captain retorted.
Inzamam said his side has been scrutinising star Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, a crucial element in the Indian batting line up.
“We have done a lot of work on his weaknesses and have told the bowlers to exploit them.”
Tendulkar, regarded as doyen of modern day batsmen, made his Test debut at Karachi as a 16-year-old when Indian last toured Pakistan in 1989-90 season.
Pakistan is likely to enter the Test with regular openers Imran Farhat and Yasir Hameed and will give impressive allrounder Rana Naveedul Hassan a chance in place of injured Shabbir Ahmed.
