Re: Pakistan vs England at Lords, 4th Test, Thu Aug 26 - Mon Aug 30
This is not the reaction for this test alone - Please note. Now its clear that players like Imran Farhat, Yasir Hameed, Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal have been given plenty of chances in Tests and they should be dumped for ever now,
since when 2 tests in 2 years r plenty of chances??

He is probably too disgusted to even visit KK
Re: Pakistan vs England at Lords, 4th Test, Thu Aug 26 - Mon Aug 30
BTW I would be VERY interested to see highlights of today's (Sunday's) game, how players come on the pitch and what they do.
Re: Pakistan vs England at Lords, 4th Test, Thu Aug 26 - Mon Aug 30
Amir, Asif, Butt and Akmal will probably be arrested today after the match... they are only waiting for the match to be completed!

Here come the umpires...Billy Bowden and Tony Hill. Here come England led by Andrew Strauss. Now all we need is batsmen. And here they are, Azhar Ali and Umar Akmal. Finn has three balls left in his unfinished over...
10.50am "Off comes the hover-cover," reports Andrew. It's an overcast day - in more than one sense - with some rain forecast for later but England will expect to wrap up the match before then. Even though it matters little.
10.45am Fifteen minutes until the start of play - hopefully. A couple of Pakistan players in whites, probably the not-out batsmen, and England have finished their warm-ups
10.35am Nagraj is stationed at the side of the pavilion and is dealing in hand-signals from the Pakistan balcony. The team manager, Shafqat Rana, has just indicated to him that there's nothing to worry about - which is probably a touch optimistic on his part. But it does suggest that the match will start on time, regardless of the lack of warming-up taking place.
10.25am Nagraj is round by the pavilion, and doesn't think Pakistan intend to train at all. Yawar Saeed is holding his head in his hands.
10.15am The Pakistan players are now in the dressing room as crowd continues to file into Lord's for what will be an extraordinary day.
"The England team are warming up on the outfield in front of the Tavern Stand," says Andrew. "A few Pakistanis are visible on the dressing-room balcony, but minimal activity on their part for now."
10.05am Sizeable crowds are now gathering behind a barrier outside the museum, anticipating the arrival of the Pakistan team. A mixture of photographers, pressmen, MCC members and random punters. And the bus has just pulled in...here they are. Miller reports they ducked in through a back entrance to avoid the crowds.
9.55am Osman has been busy again and has taken a look at the links between the Pakistan players and Mazhar Majeed. And, of course, the Sydney Test from earlier this year has been pulled back into the spotlight, too.
9.45am England's players are heading to the nets. "Kevin Pietersen and Paul Collingwood were going for a hit," Miller says, "and I asked KP if he expected to play today. 'I hope so' he said."
Andrew also says there is a heightened police presence at Lord's today and extra checks being taken of accreditation and passes of anyone entering the ground.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan players are filing out of the hotel onto the team bus. And the coach as just left for the ground
9.35am Andrew Miller is up in the media centre at Lord's. "Officials from the ICC and ECB are in the media centre, reiterating the fact that this is an ongoing police investigation and that they are unable to comment directly," he says. "But all parties insist at this stage that the show is going to continue." Meanwhile, at the hotel Nagraj says the team are running late - they would normally leave for the ground at 9.30.
9.25am Osman Samiuddin, Cricinfo's Pakistan Editor, has reported that Pakistan players were told not to meet the agents in their team hotel. Meanwhile, we are still waiting for the players to leave for the ground. It takes around 10 minutes to get from where the team are staying to Lord's, so they'll need to head off soon if they want decent time to prepare for play.
9.15am Good morning on a bleak morning for cricket. The spot-fixing revelations in the News of the World have cast a massive shadow over the fourth - and in all probability - final day of the fourth Test at Lord's, with many people questioning how the match can possibly continue in the light of what is alleged to have taken place during Pakistan's bowling performance on the first two days.

Swann to Umar Akmal, FOUR, 84.3 kph, well played as he steps back into his crease and creates the room to cut this away strongly through point...*looks like Pakistan will play positively today. They may as well. *

18.4
Swann to Azhar Ali, OUT, 82.6 kph, gone! What a beauty from Swann. This one held its line up the hill, beat the outside edge and took off stump. That was terrific bowling from Swann who has been superb in this match
Azhar Ali b Swann 12 (17b 0x4 0x6) SR: 70.58
63/5 (18.4 ov)
*Kamran Akmal comes in at No. 7...this could all end quite quickly *
I hope he is playing his last inning

*We are hearing suggestions that there won't be a presentation after the match finishes given everything that has happened *
Re: Pakistan vs England at Lords, 4th Test, Thu Aug 26 - Mon Aug 30
A triple-century stand between the Akmals now, and then a double century stand between one Akmal and Mohammad Amir will give Pakistan a lead of around 150. Batting for 150+ in the 4th innings won't be an easy task for England batsmen. Cheer up people, this match is in the bag!

Anderson to Kamran Akmal, OUT, 134.7 kph, gone! Another falls and this won't last long. A lovely ball outside off but a limp push from Akmal and the edge flies to Prior

The Pakistan players arrived through a back entrance to Lord’s with the spectre of scandal looming large

20.2
Swann to Mohammad Amir, OUT, 82.1 kph, cracker from Swann ends Amir's stay, drifted in before pitching and ripping past the outside edge to clip the top of off. Amir walks off head bowed to a silent Lord's crowd. *He started this match on top of the world and ends in utter disarray *
Mohammad Amir b Swann 0 (5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
Pakistan 74 & 72/7 (21.4 ov)
Pakistan trail by 300 runs with 3 wickets remaining
