Sami usually is very expensive while Razzaq can bat too...and sometimes good bat...

Shafiq is a solid player who doesn't throw his wicket cheaply...but who should make a place for him...

Nazir remains a gamble...he can make lots of runs and can give Pakistan a good start...but he gets out in a freakish manner...Afridi & Nazir are the 2 sides of the same coin...realistically we are playing with 9 players.. :D

Actually Asad should replace one of the two, Nazir or Malik (both you know will not succeed with the bat against the Australian seamers).

Agreed Malik cant play Aussies seamers alongwith Nazir but still I will go with Malik but no to Nazir

Asad is the stabilizing factor for ODIs, will he be good for T20. Malik can hit big if there is no pressure...he can't take pressure either..he is more experienced and can play high bouncers better than asad...
Aussies will definitely bounce Nazir, Afridi, Umar and Kamran. they want them to go for the mistimed pull or hook...
So I would keep Malik in the 11, despite him being who he is..

Head to head...I would right now go with Malik due to fielding, experience, ability to hit sixes...

If he wants to go to semis he must try this now...although then they must bowl first to give Razzaq the rythm after such a long break..with a wicket or two ...he will be more confident.

You know, his slow medium pace can be surprise package for Aussies top order. They like pace and well, Razzler ain't got none. :)

Again a difficult choice...Malik is too cool...these days he brings stability in the batting in crisis...he can spin too...should be used...

Honestly...Shafique can only replace an injured batsman...catch 22... :D

But we still can make a match with the resources we have at hands...the problem is to have a sound Pakistan mind-set...Bingo... :D

You can not go in T20 with 1.5 seamers. With all the great things that spinners are doing, they are extremely risky during death overs when defending. ( There is umpteen example like Hussey vs Ajmal). You must have atleast 2 decent seamers. Therefore if Arafat goes you need to have Sohail Tanveer. Afridi should make way for Razzaq. 4 front line spinner is too much.

It seems likely that Razzaq will be brought in tomorrow... but can someone tell me what's the deal with his inclusion in the team. Why is he always brought in so late in the tournament? I recall in the 2009 T20 tournament he was also in the squad but only brought in 3rd or 4th game into the tournament. It's pretty obvious he isn't the first choice for quite some time now. I just wonder why?

What you’re saying makes sense but after listening to this and seeing the special bond or bhaichara between the two, it is highly unlikely that Hafeez will drop Afridi

Hafeez is repaying Afridi’s faith in him when Afridi captained Pakistan in WT20 2010. Hafeez kept on failing yet Afridi persisted with him. And I guess, Hafeez being in the position he is now is largely due to Afridi. Had Afridi dropped him from the WT20 and World Cup games, Hafeez would have been nowhere in the picture as a player in for Pakistan let alone as a captain.

^^ Afridi is the "samajh" kee deewar for Razzaq..don't know for sure but its the word on the street...bechara does not have a "pawwa"nor is he idol of youngsters and chicks..
