Re: Pakistan vs Australia - First Test (July 13-17)

Pak needs to take him tmw morning, otherwise he can take Aus to a commanding score ...

Re: Pakistan vs Australia - First Test (July 13-17)

Im sure Pak will miss the experienced Yousef and Younes ...
Surprisingly, they dropped Malik from the squad ...

*wats ur old nick? *

Good bowling by Pakistan. Now batsmen have to show maturity and get some lead once they take the last wicket tomorrow.

I hope Paki batsman feel their responsibility and understand that they are playing Test Matcha and not T20 ...

Re: Pakistan vs Australia - First Test (July 13-17)

I think this young Pakistani team believes in themselves. So I think yes we will miss Younus & Yousuf, but I think in the end if they play as a team and play their hearts out it might be close. Good to see Kamran holding on to all the catches...

Can people please stop saying repeatedly ' we miss Younis and Yousef '. Hello. Both of them have been part of the Pakistan team for previous test series against the Aussies and we STILL lost.

Since neither of those two have helped us win any test against the Aussies since 1995 (when neither were in the team to begin with) - we have nothing to lose by playing Umar Amin and Azhar Ali.

I would have liked to see Yasir play ahead of Farhat but I guess Afridi wants to back Farhat yet again.

That said, good to see Amin and Azhar in the lineup. We might as well build a young team so we start winning consistently soon rather than playing old players like Yousef, Younis, Misbah who are past their best and bring a lot of excess baggage with them .

Just to correct you on one thing. Younus Khan was NOT part of the test series in Aussie/NZ. And Misbah never proved himself in the test arena.

Re: Pakistan vs Australia - First Test (July 13-17)

A very good day for Pak in the field. The big test will be tomorrowwhen we bat, lets hope our rookie batsmen can deliver.

Agreed -he didnt play the last series...but Younis has still played 6 test matches vs Australia and we didnt win even 1. Same goes for Yousef, he has played 11 tests vs the Aussies....we didnt even win 1 of those 11.

No harm in letting the younger batsman have a crack at the Aussies....whats the worst that can happen? We lose? Well..we've been losing with Yousef and Younis in the team as well....so might as well let the youngsters have a go...they may surprise us or at the very least gain good experience for the future...

Re: Pakistan vs Australia - First Test (July 13-17)

Pakistan did well to restrict Australia to 229/9. Hussey could still do some real damage (remember Sydney Test). Pakistan beware. Batting is the key though. Hope the young and inexperienced batters do not ruin it all tomorrow. A good first innings lead is vital given that we w'd be batting last in this test

Re: Pakistan vs Australia - First Test (July 13-17)

Just watched the highlights, a good performance by all the team, impressed with the 18yr old M Aamer. :k:

Having just seen the forecast, i’m not sure much if any cricket will be played tomorrow, forecast is for heavy showers.

It was kamran Akmal's keeping rather than Hussey's brilliance. So we got to beware of his keeping. :)

Re: Pakistan vs Australia - First Test (July 13-17)

You sure have a point there :)

But given how thin our current batting is Kamran Akmal is indispensable as a batsman (if not as a keeper). He is good enough to be in the present side purely based on his batting talent

Aussies 253 all out :cheer:
