Re: Pakistan vs Australia, 3rd Test, Hobart Jan 14-18, 2010

all down.. but well played tail-enders.. :k:

Australia batting again.. no follow-on enforced..

so predictions of losing match by an inning proves wrong

Re: Pakistan vs Australia, 3rd Test, Hobart Jan 14-18, 2010

If weather does not interfere, now this match can go into the fifth day./

Re: Pakistan vs Australia, 3rd Test, Hobart Jan 14-18, 2010

1/1 watson gone.. :k:

Re: Pakistan vs Australia, 3rd Test, Hobart Jan 14-18, 2010

Awesome!!! Watson gone!

Re: Pakistan vs Australia, 3rd Test, Hobart Jan 14-18, 2010

Aamer looks tired.. bowling only at around 135kph.

Re: Pakistan vs Australia, 3rd Test, Hobart Jan 14-18, 2010

Pretty harmless and unconvincing bowling by Aamer... no pace, no movement, no direction. Asif was bowling accurately and moving the ball, yet he's the one who's replaced by Gul.

Re: Pakistan vs Australia, 3rd Test, Hobart Jan 14-18, 2010

59/1 stumps day 3..

This test is going the same way as the first test (Melbourne) with the only difference being that this time we might be chasing 400 odd in slightly less time (4.5 sessions instead of 5). I predict an Australian declaration an hour after lunch unless they go all bonkers and score 130-150 before lunch

Re: Pakistan vs Australia, 3rd Test, Hobart Jan 14-18, 2010

Australia will want to ask Pakistan to chase around 450, and won't declare before lunch. Closer to tea, most likely.

Ponting's strategy reminds me of mohalla cricket, where the objective is to do as much batting as possible (rather than necessarily win matches). Always bat first when you win the toss (since you're not playing for money, make the bowling side toil). No matter what happens, always spend as much time as possible when batting (what's the fun in getting the other side out for 30 in a 10 over game, and then finishing off the runs in 3 overs).

Re: Pakistan vs Australia, 3rd Test, Hobart Jan 14-18, 2010

^ That leaves him with around 170 runs to get which mean declaring just before tea. Looking at the weather report, (It's supposed to rain in the afternoon) that doesn't seems enough time to get Pak batsmen out. Unless they can get them by lunch or about an hour after lunch.

Weather wise things looking good for Pakistan, I think. :)

Yes just checked the forecast. Rain can still save us from the humiliation of a whitewash

BBC Weather | Hobart

A 2-0 loss knowing deep down that we could have (and should have) won the second test, I can live with it…

barsaat sey yaad aaya, it is time for Rafi AGAIN  (one of my favourite singers)

No amount of barsaat will save us if we do not stop this bleeding

Australia mean business today

5 boundaries already in 4 overs this morning

wickets please...

89/1

our bowlers have been exposed again. Gul maybe a good t20 bowler but he is not a test material. Through out nz and Aus series, he has been very ineffective in a bowler friendly pitches. We need to bring in new faces in bowling department and enforce a rotation policy please no more of sami, rauf, iftikhar. We just don't seem to have a killer instinct.

200/2

Yes Gul is not the same force in test matches. A highly productive session for the Aussies

141 runs off 28 overs, RR: 5.03 and they only lost Katich in that session

Lead: 418

Ponting is just waiting for his own hundred so expect a declaration soon after lunch
