extremely demoralizing ... i always support our team even when they lose, but man this is utterly maddening.. to lose after such 3 dominating days.. it's worse than a normal loss
I"m speechless..I dont want to over analyze , all I can say this was unbelievable and we were hit by sheer bad luck! Akmal dropping four catches is not normal. Aus's 8th wicket 100 runs partnership is not normal....Just bad luck. I don't know how we are going to recover from this loss.
Yousuf did make a good point -- regardless of what happened int he first session today and how we could not get the 9th and 10th wickets, on this type of wicket, 150 overs available, a team should be able to chaes 176 runs.... we need to seriously think about what happened after losing the openers today..
exactly. With 5 sessions to play, 176 was achievable no matter how bad the bowlers, fielders and captain performed in the morning.

Exactly!
PCB's reluctance to put Younis on the plane is mindboggling. Faisal Iqbal is not going to cut it at this level. Good fringe cricketer to play a test here and there in case of an injury but not a permanent member..
Umar showed some fight but i think after Yousuf's dismissal, it was all over bar the shouting.
Yousuf yahan tu batting blame accept ker raha hai.. but in reality it was his captaincy that let us down today.
as I said no matter how bad it was, 176 was chase-able with 5 sessions on hand so at the end of the day it was another batting collapse which sealed the fate
on the top of my head I can count at least 4 test matches (including this one) in last 12 months or so that WE LOST instead of opposition winning and all 4 because of batting collapses
as I have been saying, we are SERIOUSLY missing an all rounder here and even shoaib Malik would have been better choice than Bhanja or Misbah ...anyways ...its history now ...
I guess soon we will snatch the Chokers crown from SA.

Pakistan Team should quit from Test Cricket & One day and Just Play T 20 bcoz they can't play Test or One Day (50 Overs matches).

o cmon ...a team that gave Aus a run for their money ..you are asking them to quit? OK we have all sort of batting problems ... OK we have all sort of catching problems...we should try to improve those departments instead of .....
Everytime we lose a game like this, with an all to familiar batting failure, we say drop Misbah put Malik in the team, or drop Faisal put Younis back, or bring Asim Kamal back etc etc....these are the same players again and again who continue to fail. Younis Kha and Asim Kamal have also been part of the team when it fails to chase a target or when the lineup collapses...
Point is....the same players keep coming in...through a revolving door and the results are the same..we continue to have a mental block in tough situations and against top sides.
The solution lies in a total overhaul of the entire team, getting fresh players and fresh minds involved...alongwith working on the mental toughness of the players.
In the 90s we won a lot because we had a lot of good players but also because those players were mentally tough...people like Wasim,Waqar,Imran,Miandad,Saeed Anwar,Moin Khan,Rashid Latif etc....the current crop of players are all sissys.
As soon as they face even a little preassure....they crumble. And unless we change our entire culture within the team, this will continue..sure we`ll win games against Bangladesh,Zimbabwe and the occasional game against Sri Lanka and New Zealand, but as soon as encounter mentally tough teams like Australia,India,South Africa...we will crumble again and again.
Problem is...no one has the guts to take tough decisions in Pakistan cricket...which is why we continue to slip down the rankings and are becoming the new chokers in world cricket.

As i have already said that they needs some Psychologist. They can easily win ODI series against Aussies in UAE but they didn't ..... just bcoz they have mentally not ready to think over the win agaisnt Aussies ........
I would still want PCB to persist with bhanja and misbah, but keep rotating players instead of axing them and then bringing them back. You need to instill confidence in players by retaining them in the squad for an extended period and at the same time rotate with new faces. We already found two gifted players, Amir and U.Akmal and really don't need any more youngsters, unless they are as talented as Amir and U.Akmal which I think would be too much to ask for. Now its the time to persist with our current pool of players.
I thought Salman butt was a very talented attacking player and played with no fear but PCB totally destroyed his confidence by kicking him out of the team when he was out of form. Read Sanath Jaysuriya's(sp?) interview. He talked about how his captain, the management supported him in the beginning of his career. Basically they told him that even if he gets out in the first ball , they will support him no matter what. Basically encouraged him to play his game and He failed MANY times too and we know the rest. PCB needs to adopt similar attitude.
We really need Younis khan both as a batsman and captain and any player who is causing any group baazi needs to be kicked out. There should be zero tolerance.
I don't want to do any analysis. May be will do it later. Right now I want the bloody culprits to to take responsibility. I want Yousuf to admit that it was not only his shot (which btw he did admit) but mainly his mind boggling, gutless, and spineless captaincy which cost us the game..
I want Kamran Akmal to accept responsibility for what he has done (and this is not the first time he has done that. He single handedly cost us the Pakistan/South Africa and Pakistan England Series in the last 2 years). If he has any sharm left in him he should just quit so that Pakistani public cannot see his face which will remind them of this heart breaking defeat and loss which could easily be a memorable victory for our cricket.
