Guys,

How fast is Mohammed Zahid bowling ? Is he as fast as he was ?
[/QUOTE]

nah yara, he is down on his pace :( around 85 mph
even Waqar is constantly faster then him But lets hope he can pce up aa little after he settles down!

SM Ervine c Shahid Afridi b Saqlain Mushtaq 1 (2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Zimbabwe 226/5.

Require 98 runs off 45 balls.

A Flower c Inzamam-ul-Haq b Saqlain Mushtaq 63 (108m 81b 4x4 0x6) SR: 77.78

Zimbabwe 226/6

Saqlain bowling very well now.

Thanks Saby yara.

Still, a bit disturbing that Zim can score 200 + against us with our bowling line up.

Against SA, we wont be scoring 300+ so we'll need to defend 240 - 260. Is that possible if Zim can score 200 + ?

Yup, that is the problem. We are giving away too many runs and that also against Zimbabwe. SA will be a different proposition.

why is Taufiq Umar bowling ? 30 + runs in 4 overs ?

We need Auzzie's killer instinct.

Because after his 5 overs for 37 runs our captain is shying away from bowling in case of further humiliation. :)

Pakistan wins by 48 runs
pathetic bowling...fielding (i didnt see the game... lol)

Hopefully they can do better against other teams... but again Great batting off an easy team... and pathetic bowling

Two games to go... Pakistan wins the series

Zimbabwe 275/7 off 50 overs.

Pakistan won by 48 runs.

Congratulations to Pakistan.

The bowlers gave away too many runs.

Look at the following analysis:

Bowling O M R W
Wasim Akram 8 0 23 0 (2w)
**Waqar Younis 5 0 37 0
Mohammad Zahid 10 0 69 1** (3nb, 3w)
Saqlain Mushtaq 10 0 41 3 (1w)
Shahid Afridi 10 1 50 1 (2w)
**Taufeeq Umar 7 0 49 1**

Waqar, Zahid and Taufeeq gave away 155 runs for 22 overs, an average of 7.04 and took only 2 wickets. Need improvement.

Well another sub-standard bowling display, but bowling isn’t really our problem so I don’t mind that so much. Batting is more important and again the openers set us up for victory, which shows just how important it is to have a good opening pair. Hope both Taufeeq and Elahi can do it against SA.

Another brilliant knock by our best batsman Youhanna. 94, six needed for a century off the last ball and BAM! :hehe:

mark of a true great :k:

I'm sure Waqar let Zahid and Taufeeq bowl so they get experience to bowl in last overs (which are always hit hard even by the tailenders) knowing that 323 was too much when the good batting lineup was over.

We do need to work on our bowling. I hope when Razzaq joins the squad for South African tour he will strengthen the lineup with Wasim Waqar.

Both Sami and Zahid need to learn techniques from the two great Ws. They'll also need to learn "how to keep the good line and length".

saeed anwar had done it as well in sharjah!

Congratulations to Pakistan.

Yousuf Youhana rocks and he is still unbeaten in the series. Hope he will remain unbeaten in all 5 matches. Will this be a record ?

Thats exactly what Waqar wanted to do , let youngsters learn and experience. Waqar had enough runs and as Aamir Sohail suggested that if Waqar wantes Taufiq Umar to bowl some overs in onedayers as any bowler can have a bad day like Shoaib as we mst probably will be playing with five bowlers including Razzaq and Afridi so Taufiq might come handy. And to say that Waqar avoided humilation, well there goes Waqars criticism again. He could have comt at the end and took his 400th ODI wicket bowling at tail-enders but he didnt and let others gain experience , specially Zahid and thats the hallmark of a supporting captain! :k:

I see most of the ppl talking about our bowling but I think its fine. PAK bowlers bowl acording to the team they are playing agianst. I am sure the same bowlers will be more effective on SA pitches and when they know they are playing agianst SA not ZIM they won’t be taking it easy.

Hats off to Youhana :k: and congrats to PAK for 3rd consective win. Can’t give shabash to Elahi yet we will see him agaisnt SA how he performs then he gets his hats off  thats if he continues to play like this.

I am pleased to know that you can read Waqar’s mind. As to the hallmark of a supporting captian, yup we saw it in Nairobi when he sent back our best batsmen home to satisfy his ego.

Ehsan bhai, I think its wrong for you to say about Waqar suffering humiliation. He had an off day today, and I think you may have watched the previous 2 matches, and the 2 test series in which he bowled really nicely, so don't be too hard on Waqar, he is bowling up to his standards.

The comments about the match, I think it was justified Pakistan bowling this way, they all just had an off day, specially Waqar, and both of them were unlucky to get wickets.
Batting was great, very nice to know. Let see if Elahi become 4th man to score 3 straight centuries in ODI, though its against Zimbabwe, Gibbs also scored century against weak bowling attacks of Windies, Kenya, and Bangladesh.
Wasim looked nice as usual in his bowling.
Nice to see M Zahid bowling again, though he may not be as fast as others but he should be played in the next 2 matches.
Maybe bring in M Sami in place for a batsman, and also bring in Mizbah for Youhana, I think he had his share of runs.

:hehe: :hehe:

I hope they dont discard Zahid on todays performance as he needs a few matches before his worth can be assessed as to whether he is up to the mark or not.
