Ok...Akmal has just stunned all of us with that blistering knock. Where are all those critics....who were hell bent on seeing that poor lad out of the team.
Well the pakistan team has changed a lot since the days of Wasim, Waqar and Saeed. Back then we were labelled as probably the worst chasers. What we see now is that we have little trouble chasing big scores. Its a healthy change, but our bowling however has gone for the worst. Shoaib Akhtar broke down right at the start of the match; was he even tested for fitness prior to the match? Hope fully our bowling should be better with the return of Sami, Shabbir and Kaneria. But the next 2 to 3 years should be all about grooming Butt, Hameed, Malik and Akmal too, who could very well be transformed into a swashbuckling batsman in the mould of Kaluwitharana.
Anywaz future aint all that bad...just a bit more work to do. Hopefully our team management acts a bit more wisely in the future.
Spare a thought for WI. They are suffering like us as their number one all rounder Chris Gayle is unable to bowl because of a shoulder injury (just like Malik is unable to bowl) that has disrupted their team setup.
MAlik has justified his selection as a pure batsman though. Hafeez's spot is still uncertain. Maybe we should see Butt as one who can bowl 3-4 overs if needed and play a specialist instead of Hafeez.

You fight, you loose with a little margin I have no qualms with that and your fighting spirit tells you apart from your opponent even if they win over you.
This win is indeed reflects a ‘learning bunch’ performance. I guess Aussie rode their good luck under the weak bowling combo of Paki bowling in the last ODI.
Kaam-Ka Kamran Akmal had it within him , It proves that he likes to take the preceding in his own hand from the ‘Start’ and not down the order.
He played a very good and composed knock. Perhaps he is the “Dark Horse” of this young Paki side

This was a very good win indeed. Last game Afridi's blazing 56 took us to 272, but this time almost everyone's run-a-ball knock took us to the victory!
Sir ji I agree that fighting spirit is so crucial to over come the weakness and pschological pressure and it did help Kamran and Malik.
But as far as technique and accuracy is concern, I see serious flaw there. He missed alteast 11 balls like he is hitting with his closed eyes. Hitting and putting pressure on bowlers is a good strategy but one needs to learn basic to be successful in long run. Missing a straight ball coming right on the bat is a guli mohalla cricket, not Intl. This what tail-enders do. Malik has improved over the year and we can see when he moves his bat, he does it full intention and in line.
Thats my own opinion after watching Kamran’s innings. There were some tukkas too, but I think everyone takes chances in ODI, like Salman did other day.
