Who took Irfan's place?
Re: Pakistan v United Arab Emirates McLean Park, Wed Mar 4
Although Pakistan by this victory reached the top-4 on the points table but they still have to work hard mentally and technically in the
next 2 matches against SA and Ireland…good luck!

PS: Do something to Nasir Jamshed…lol
Re: Pakistan v United Arab Emirates McLean Park, Wed Mar 4
Anybody, please tell me who took Irfan's place in this match? Or did they battle with 10 players?

Yasir was the substitute but his quota of 7 overs was bowled by Sohaib and haris.
Re: Pakistan v United Arab Emirates McLean Park, Wed Mar 4
Congrats for the Victory.
A win is a win. Batsmen seems to be finding their groove which is a good news but injury if Irfan is of some concern. He needs to be fit for future matches.
Re: Pakistan v United Arab Emirates McLean Park, Wed Mar 4
But for Jamshe'd the batting finding it's groove. Confidence booster for shebzad Haris Sohail. Misbah we all know can attack at will. (And he should do so regardless of 1 for 4 or 100 for 4)
Re: Pakistan v United Arab Emirates McLean Park, Wed Mar 4
Needs to win against SA Now
Re: Pakistan v United Arab Emirates McLean Park, Wed Mar 4
I think that they stuck with Jamshed for this match ONLY because Shahryar Khan made a statement that Pakistan should drop Jamshed for the next match. First board chairman has to keep it shut (I am surprised SYK did so cuz he normally is a good diplomat).
Stupid decision, vindicated by a stupid innings by the mujj
Now the other news makes sense about Moin Khan threatening chairman that if Moin was prosecuted and punished for casino he will go to press for chairman's interfering in selection process.

What happened to him?
Re: Pakistan v United Arab Emirates McLean Park, Wed Mar 4
Yeah that’s possible. The other reason could be they must have been hoping Jamshed to get some runs against UAE so he can gain some much needed confidence before the SA game and facing the likes of Styen/Morkel/Abbot. But predictably, Jamshed failed again.
Seeing Waqar’s press conference after the game, he clearly said they think Sarfraz is an asset to the team but they don’t want to ruin his career by sending him to open on these pitches as his technique isn’t suitable in Aus/NZ conditions. He would be suited more at batting #6](http://www.paklinks.com/gs/usertag.php?do=list&action=hash&hash=6) /7.
They really need to sit down and get Haris to come in as opener. That will relieve Umar Akmal of his wicket keeping duties, and also strengthen the fielding with the absence of Jamshed in the field and addition of Umar Akmal.
Re: Pakistan v United Arab Emirates McLean Park, Wed Mar 4
^^ The problem with Haris is, so far he have done relatively better job as a one down.. means he can see off the new ball if he comes to open then who'll be at one down position, Younis Khan is out of question against SA, and i donot think exposing Misbah would be a great idea at thist point, we needed somebody like Azhar for one down position.
i would like to have sarfaraz, but then i'll have one batsman less or i may compromise on one bowler.
Against SA, i would rather drop Nasir and have one bowler more... that is Yasir shah to have some good 20+ (haris and sohaib) overs of spin... and keep the current attack as it is, although i think Sohail Khan and wahab riaz can go for plenty.

Haris should open with Shehzad, Misbah should come one down, Umar Akmal next then Sohaib Maqsood, Sarfaraz then Shahid Afridi.

Finally I see 300+ in front of Pakistan.
With a little planning they would have moved to 3rd spot on table crossing west indies if they had restricted UAE under 195 instead of 210 so if somehow they had shown the urgency to stop runs. You never know these 15 runs can come and bite us later on.
My other fear that Nasir Jumshed will perform in this game against UAE and that will reserve the spot for him in the team for next 5/6 failures. Good that he failed.
