**Sri Lanka eager to kick off **](BBC SPORT | Cricket | Other International | Pakistan outplay Sri Lanka)
Match starts 0530 BST Wednesday
Sri Lanka join Pakistan’s triangular one-day series on Wednesday with memories still fresh of beating the hosts during the Asia Cup last July.
The eventual champions bowled Pakistan out for 122 in a seven-wicket win - one of 17 in 18 successive matches.
“This is a new tournament at a new venue but it was nice to win a major event like the Asia Cup,” said Sri Lanka captain Marvan Atapattu.
“We need to build on that win by achieving good results here.”
Captain Inzamam-ul-Haq is confident Pakistan will have the edge, having already beaten Zimbabwe twice in the series.
The home side can go through to the 16 October final with victory in Karachi.
“We know Sri Lanka is a tough side but after two good games against Zimbabwe we are well-tuned,” said Inzamam.
“We hope the guys raise their level and give us the one more win to qualify for the final.”
Pakistan put in an unimpressive performance in beating Zimbabwe in their second match on Sunday.
Pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar and all-rounder Abdul Razzaq return after being rested for that match and Inzamam-ul-Haq is back from a groin injury.
Younis Khan will again keep wicket as Moin Khan is still struggling with flu.
Younis won the man-of-the-match award in Peshawar on Sunday after making 77 off 86 balls.
Sri Lanka are still without injured spinner Muttiah Muralitharan but pace bowler Dilhara Fernando has returned to the squad.
“We have four pacers with the return of Dilhara Fernando so that gives us more options and we are right up there to expose any weakness Pakistan has,” Atapattu added.
