and holds on to the catches that come his way :D

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011

He has always been a safe fielder but he has been dropping catches lately

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011

hence the comment

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011

I will cut Younis some slack. He officially turns 34 on Nov 29

http://www.espncricinfo.com/pakistan-v-sri-lanka-2011/content/player/43652.html

Unofficially, God only nows

Cannot expect Younis to field like a 25 year old (Younis)!! It’s not about fitness - Younis and Misbah are still the fittest in the Pakistan camp - **it’s about reflexes which go down with age.

**Though he dropped a dolly yesterday, Younis did take a good catch to dismiss Herath. Guys much younger than him have been dropping catches (Gul, Hafeez etc.)

Jayawardene dropped 2 in 2 overs today!! (He is also 34!!)

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011

Younis even looks 34 .......But still i believe the best is yet to come from Younis

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011

What a time for Ajmal to make his 2nd test 50!!

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011

Looks like it is now up to Misbah-tuk-Haq

100.4

Welegedara to Misbah-ul-Haq, OUT, oh well, Misbah is gone pretty early, he has had a quite needless poke at this one outside off after having left so many deliveries similar to this one, slightly fuller and going further away, Misbah goes after it feebly and a fine tumbling catch is taken in the slips, it is Mahela who holds on as he dives to his right at second slip

 **Misbah-ul-Haq c Jayawardene b Welegedara 41 (113b 2x4 1x6) SR: 36.28 **

288/5 (103 overs)

:naraz:

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011

297/5 (108 Overs)

Ajmal 12 (38)
Asad 4 (17)

Oh
108.1
Welegedara to Asad Shafiq, FOUR, goes with an open face at the drive, and it races past point who gives chase, puts in the slide but it trickles over

300 Up

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011

308/5 (111 Overs)

Ajmal 13 from 39 balls SR 33
Asad 14 from 28 balls SR 50

Asad is getting momentum here :cobra:

Imran: “Absolutely love watching Ajmal bat. He has improved so much which is a testament to his commitment. He could be even better if he didn’t leave his bat hanging outside the off stump all the time.”

116.6

Welegedara to Asad Shafiq,** FOUR, **clatter! Pakistan getting a move on, Asad latches on to a shortish delivery and hammers it through extra cover off the front foot

116.5

Welegedara to Adnan Akmal, 1 run, more runs, this is what Pakistan had been lacking, bit of urgency, guided through point this time

116.4

Welegedara to Adnan Akmal, **FOUR, **and again, this time he opens the face even as he gets across and squeezes the ball past point whose chase ends in a desperate, and fruitless, dive

116.3

Welegedara to Adnan Akmal, no run, left alone outside off

116.2

Welegedara to Adnan Akmal, **FOUR,** shot! Adnan pings the extra cover boundary with a stretch towards the line of the length ball and a firm drive in the air, shades of Kamran in that

116.1

Welegedara to Asad Shafiq, 1 run, softly pushes a length ball off the front foot in front of point and takes the run

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011

From cricinfo

Osama: “Why is it that whenever people praise someone on cricinfo commentary they get out…???” Is a mystery that one, for sure

Syed: “I think we (the cricinfo) community is a little too superstitious. Lets prove ourselves wrong and praise Asad Shafiq and see what happens.” :aj: :smilestar:

120.2

Lakmal to Asad Shafiq, no run, Adnan wants to get to the striker's end, he takes off for the run even as midwicket gets to the push from Asad, who sends Adnan back in time

120.1

Lakmal to Asad Shafiq, no run, appeal for run out as Lakmal gets a hand on this straight push from Asad, did Adnan get back in time? He did

Adnan Akmal :smilestar:
