Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011
what a crappy batting. Misbah is more defensive than Inzamam
last 5 overs have produced 3 runs and last 3 overs have produced 0 run ![]()
I can understand these are the last overs and we do not want to lose wickets but who is asking to hit boundaries. I can not believe them if someone tells me that atleast 2-3 runs can not be taken by nudging here and there in each over in these last overs…

Last 30 balls that Misbah has faced, he made 6 runs ....
Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011
Pakistan lead by 42 runs with 6 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
Stumps - Day 2
*We are good 25-30 runs short again... Hopefully they will catch-up tomorrow *
Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011
The Comms says a 200+ Lead on this wicket should be enough to put pressure on SL but then who know what tomorrow holds

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011
Only 1 1/2 proper Batting-Pair left for us ..... Misbah-Asad + Misbah/Asad + Adnan and then we are into the tail .....
So a Lead of 150-200 should be the least target ..... no worry about cautious approach :D
Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011
Wel played Azhar. Deserved maiden hundred :k:
Misbah better make up for the slowness today. Pakistan scored 230 odd runs today. Once again a bit on the slow side considering the pitch and a pedestrian bowling attack.
Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011
A Lead for around 200 would be handy …I Hope we can get it :k:

Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011
Pakistan are in a good position but again they batted too slowly managing just 239 runs in 90 overs on day 2. This test seems to be following the same pattern as the 1st test where we managed just 232 runs on day 2
Most of us agree that dropped catches were the main reason why we failed to win the first test but the second biggest reason was the slow scoring by our batsmen esp. on day 3. We should be scoring 280-300 in a day. This mentality contributed to us drawing (instead of winning) the 1st test and it may do the same here. All the top teams score 3.3-3.5 runs per over now. We are not asking for gung ho 4s and 6s. We are only asking for strike rotation, singles and twos (cf. Miandad, Asif Iqbal). Even 3 RPO w'd be a nice start
A lead less than 150 and Sri Lanka would feel that they are very much in the game. They may even score enough runs in the second innings to set us a target of 200+/- and put pressure on our batsmen. No matter how placid the pitch, 4th innings chases are never easy
Congrats to Azhar on his maiden test hundred. It was long overdue
Re: Pakistan v Sri Lanka - 2nd Test - 26-30th October 2011
Younis Khan went past Saleem Malik during his innings of 55 to become the 4th highest run getter for Pakistan in tests

I think he can play for another 2-3 years.
