if we were playing in another country the MOM would have gone to FAF to boost his morale, but wont happen in SA as there are intelligent people in SA cricket.

i am also veyr happy but lets not get carried away....pathetic NZ team also destroyed SA team in ODIs last month..
this SA limited over team is in a rebuilding phase...no steyn, no philander, no morkel...plus no batter other than that ABD....i am listening to Pakistani analysts..and they are pathetic as always...making some huge claims without pointing out the obvious...i mean one has to be balanced in analysis....

T20 is Pakistan’s comfort zone. They have one of the best records in this format http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/records/283307.html The win is a welcome result but it doesn’t take away from the disappointment of losing 3-0 in the test series, the fact that our batting struggles to set decent let alone imposing totals in tests
Wish Hafeez could bat like this in tests
Wish Gul could be penetrative in tests as well. atleast take a 3-for per innings consistently
Ahmed Shehzad should be in our ODI XI. Hafeez should bat at no. 3 in ODIs as well. Nasir-Shehzad left-right combo is ideal for both limited overs formats imo.

now that i have seen the match, few observations

kamran akmal back to normal..pathetic behind the wickets…not moving well plus a little late…clearly he is having problem keeping the wickets on a bouncy track

as good as hafiz played, most of his scoring shots (including all 4 sixes) came against 2 pathetic low quality spinners… plus I am glad he did not open today…if anything, hafiz shd never open on bouncy tracks..he shd play down…is it really that difficult to understand the logic?

shazad playing well..he was driving, cutting , pulling well…

this SA team of T20 is clearly out of depth…so we shd keep that in mind and be ready for a much better ODI SA team

Gul can only take wickets when batsmen are in rush and want to hit … and hence succumb to make a mistake …read T20! but he bowled well for a change…lets see what happens in ODI where players have more time to stay on the wicket

Yeah one thing I noticed is that SA's T20 batting is relatively inexperienced. AB and Faf can only do so much. Peterson is an all-rounder, he won't come off with the bat everytime. Smith obviously wants to prolong his test career (hence gave up the ODI captaincy as well) but Amla should be in their T20 side.
I hope they retain Shehzad for the ODIs

On thing also becomes clear that SA attack in the absence of Steyn, Philander and Morkel is very ordinary. The second string is ordinary and spin virtually non existent. Boycott is right when he says SA will have great difficulty holding on to no 1 position because they are not going to get bouncy and fast wickets everywhere.

Steyn obviously wants to prolong his test career but one of the two Morkel or Philander should be in the T20 side
