Pakistan v SL -- 2nd match--Dress Rehearsal for saturdays Final

So the D/N match is today. Inzimam has hinted Moin will be back for this match and final. I would prefer seeing Bazid and Butt given chances today as well. Specially Bazid. He can answer the call for good batsmen.

here is the team

01 Yasir Hameed
02 Salman butt
03 Shaoib Malik
04 Inzamam ul Haq
05 Youhanna
06 Abdul Razzaq
07 Moin Khan
08 Shahid Afridi
09 Rana Naveed-ul-hasan
10 Mohd Sami
11 Shoaib Akhtar

Im pretty sure thats gonna be the exact team Pakistan is gonna play...although I would like to see Younis continue to play as keeper...since that makes our batting stronger, cuz going by the batting form Moin is in these days...he could give a lot of tail enders a run for their money :p

^
i agree, since this match is not important, younis shud be maintained as a keeper, and if he does good play the final with him....

I also hope that they persist with Younis Khan as the keeper. Moin has past it.

Saby Bhai, Inzi nay kis ko ya hint diya hay keh wo Moin ko in ker raha hay, this what i called Allo act  although i like Allo :stuck_out_tongue: , in my view we must strengthen our batting line coz most of the time we fail in batting and moin is not an extra ordinary keeper he has drooped sitters some times so i think Yunis must be given chance.

PAK is again being unafir with misbah he is a talented batsmen who's had a good domestic season and is having to wait on the sidelines time after time and poor soul is 30 now how many more rejections can he take!

now the moin/younis wickie saga, i believe younis khan should keep his place in place of inzi's best mate moin, until moin can prove he is regaining his old batting touch or if younis flops then replace him, it doesn't make sense to replace younis khan when he has made a good comeback into the odi set up as a wickie/batsmen.

There is no need to go back to tired horses. Its about time someone else takes gloves. May be Asim Kamal, Humayun Farhat, Taufeeq Umar should be given this responsibility.

i hope Salman Butt is not dropped he needs a fair run and him n yasir are good, we need to stop this shuffeling and these young players confidence is being shattered by playing 1 game or 2 then dropped!

Since this match is not that imp as some one said, I will play Salman and Bazid both and will give Yasir some rest. Both the young guys have technique and patience.

I would like to send Yasir to 'Outside Offstump Deliveries for Dummies' course.

Recovered from chest infection
**Moin back in the fold
**

Moin Khan, who has missed Pakistan’s last two matches in the Paktel Cup with a chest inflection, will keep wicket tomorrow in the final group game, which is a dress rehearsal for the final against Sri Lanka after Zimbabwe, the other side participating, lost three of their group games and had the other one rained off.

“Moin will be keeping wicket as I feel more comfortable with a regular keeper,” Inzamam-ul-Haq, Pakistan’s captain, “although now we have a good option in Younis for future matches.”

Younis Khan, who kept in Moin’s absence, was Man of the Match in his first game with the gloves, conceding no byes and hitting a sprightly 77.

Although the places for the final are already decided, Inzamam insisted there would few no short cuts on Thursday: “I would like to see us winning both matches and being consistent in our performances, because consistency has been a problem with us in recent months.” He continued: “We will play our full HYPHEN strength side. The national team is not there to groom players but for players to perform.”

Sri Lanka will enter Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium tomorrow with fond memories. They have won five of their eight matches there, including the 1996 World Cup final.

“It is very important for us to win this one to boost our confidence for the final,” said John Dyson, Sri Lanka’s coach. "We are still short of practice in this competition and the last game being washed out against Zimbabwe didn’t help our preparations

Weather has gone chillier since last two three days and there has been dew around so that factor might come into play.

Younis Khan is just a makeshift. He isn’t even good enough to be backstop keeper like Dravid. It’s just a temporary solution.

We need a YOUNG SPECIALIST wicketkeeper batsman. Akmal ain’t good enough with the bat. I think Humayan Farhat deserves a chance. He can’t bat any worse than his brother :hehe: and he is a keeper too.

I would be very disappointed if Bazid and Salman aren’t given another chance.

Go Pakistan.

:jhanda:

Salman will be back in though I can't see Bazid getting another chance unless they decide to rest someone.

I really dont care about this game as much as I care about the final. But hopefully we can win both.
