Ganguly in playing XI as an opener

Lahore: In a surprise development Sourav Ganguly will partner Virender Sehwag in Lahore Test.

The move is set to create ripples as Ganguly was picked up to bolster the Indian middle order.

India, looking to maintain its No 2 position in the ICC Test rankings, will take on arch-rival Pakistan in the first Test of the three-match series staring from Friday at Lahore’s gaddaffi stadium.

But on the eve of the match Indian skipper Rahul Dravid did not disclose his cards and merely said that although the playing XI had been finalised but he would not divulge the same for strategic reasons.

As far as the report, what a surprise! I immediately checked CricInfo, and they still haven’t updated it yet. Soon, hopefully.

The report also mentions that Dravid will not release the team’s information until just before the toss.

This is my first post here. Just wanted to say hello to all of you guys. Have been eavesdropping regularly on this forum since the Ind-Pak 2004 series. Today just felt to show up my face, may be its a good tell for the Indian team (yeah, thats the team I love the most, and hate the most as well). All the best to both the teams and happy cricket...
