Misbah didn’t play him for whatever reason. To play all rounders and than DELIBERATELY not let them bowl, explain please. Could Razzaq have done any worse than Gul ? Why did he persist with GUL and not try Razzaq. On field decision are his and his only, not waqar, and there is certainly a suspicion in my mind that he was doing this deliberately.

Gul has not had a bad day prior to that game. And the ease with which Razzaq was pummelled against NZL, that would have played on Afridi’s mind.

Thy key thing here is that with Misbah, you said he didnt play Hammad for whatever reason. But with Afridi, conspiracy theiroies are believable? Its easier to drop a player when you dont want him to overtake you right?

On field decisions backfire at times and Gul one did too, that day. He let Hafeez bowl, didnt he? Hafeez is a competition too. Afridi is not an astute captain we all agree. But he trusted Gul more than he trusted Razzaq. And Gul was in prime form. Had a bad day.. Thats it.
