Kamran Abbasi: Your mantra is bits and pieces and more bits and pieces. This will not wash. Your public is bemused, confused, and angry. They can see that Abdul Razzaq is half the bowler he once was. Why can't you? They can see that Shoaib Malik is useful, but not a wicket-taker. Why don't you? They can see that Mohammad Sami is just as likely to implode as he is to explode. Why won't you?
Shoaib Malik and Abdul Razzaq are match-winners with the bat in ODI's. Their bowling can be a liability it's true, but the problem is there are no Waqars or Wasims who we can call on to replace Razzaq. And specialist spinners who might replace Malik would just as likely be hammered by the Indian batsmen..and we'd lose Malik's ability to answer in kind.
Kamran Abbasi's rubbishing of Sami has proven misguided too. While it's true that he's not the finished article he's the closest we have got to a genuine strike bowler after Shoaib and his match-winning performance yesterday justified those of us who were prepared to back him. Those who want him out should provide an alternative who THEY are prepared to back rather than pick flaws IMO.

Recalling Umar is a great move and he should play at Peshawar instead of Younis Khan. My team for the Peshawar would be:
Yasir
Afridi
Umar
Youhanna
Inzi
Razzaq
Malik
Moin
Shoaib
Shabbir
Sami

I would play Imran Nazir instead of Taufeeq Umar. He coupled with Afridi and Hameed should soften the Indian attack. Then come YoYo and Inzi to stabilise the innings, and then Razzaq, Moin and Malik to further blow the Indian attack into pieces. This gives us a good attacking start, solid middle, and an attacking tail.
i think that is unfair criticizing hashish when no indian player in the current odi lineup has a good arm *
that’s a gr8 decision taufeeq umar is in good touch, the only sad thing is it took pcb/selectors 2 games into the odi series to realise that
Bringing in another batsman is really absurd. In both matches played so far Pakistan lost a combined total of 14 wickets, an average of 7 per match. If anything we need to strengthen our bowling and give an adequate answer to India's massive batting line-up. I say bring in Saqlain instead of Shabbir.
spot on fungus’ saqi should’ve been playing from the 1st odi, he is a wicket taking bowler unlike sialkoti malik as of late, i do’t know if saqi should replace shabbir though, yes ok shabbir was pants in the 2nd odi but his bowling can be handy when the combo’ of shaoibi-e-babi and ami don’t fire on all cylinders *
I think Saqlain will be hammered out of sight by the Indian bats. He is finished. i would rather see Tariq Mehmood from the u-19 world cup winning side brought in than play Saqi. Seriously.
It's really a fallacy that Indians feast on Saqi. Tendulkar was in awe when Saqi last visited India. The offie with a doosra had a better of the little master in the series.
Having said that, I think Tariq Mehmood would be an even bolder move. Yeah, bring him on. I think that's a great idea. If India can introduce Ramesh Powar on an away series why can't Pakistan try out raw talent like Tariq in their own backyard.
Saqi was in his prime back then fungo. His doosra was a mystery ball but since then every offspinner has a doosra in his arsenal (Harbajhan Singh?) and Saqi rarely troubles top order batsmen these days.
Tariq Mehmood turns the ball a mile, he bats too...only problem is his 'doosra' is a carbon copy of Murali's bent arm delivery. Ganguly will be squealing within 5 mins about him being a chucker.
pak team especially bowlers need to show decipline! har ball par bongiyaaan martey hain challenging indian players... akhtar although 28, looks like 19 when he does that. its pathetic.
