Pakistan V India - 1st Test Match.

This is going to be the first time India wins a test match in Pakistan, unless Youhana manages to face each and every ball bowled tomorrow.

Even if he faces each and every ball ( which technically is impossible) India is still going to win.

The only face saving heroic that he can achive is avoiding the Innings defeat

**Moin fined for outburst **

Pakistan’s Moin Khan has been fined 75% of his match fee after an outburst during the first Test against India.

Moin complained after Australian umpire Simon Taufel adjudged him lbw as Pakistan limped towards a heavy defeat.

Captain Inzamam-ul-Haq and manager Haroon Rasheed accompanied Moin to the 20-minute hearing with match referee Ranjan Madugalle.

Level one of the ICC code of conduct prohibits showing dissent at an umpire’s decision.

Moin’s was the sixth wicket to fall as Pakistan struggled to 207-9, still 61 runs behind their arch-rivals, at the end of day four.

By the way, Dravid really looks like a fine captain. His body language and the way he manages his troops is really pleasing to see. I was always a fan of his batting, now his captaincy too.

I know that he and Ganguly both came to the International scene at the same time. Why was Gnaguly prefered over him for captaincy?

Two reasons...

  1. Ganguly was always more agressive and dravid was more calm and too decent.
  2. At that time Dravid was not considered a regular in ODI team and they wanted someone who is regular team member in both forms of cricket.

I agree that Dravid is a terrific captain. The Aussie commentators were praising his every move, his every field placing, every bowling change. The Man-With-A-Plan. Whereas with Inzimam, all the time the commentators were scratching their head and saying "this doesn't make sense. We don't know what he is thinking". More likely, Inzi is not thinking at all.

Thinking is done before he goes into field, by the master Miandad.

Ganguly must be a worried man, if dravid manages to win the series it might be bye-bye Gangs if his batting form doesn't improve. with youngsters like kaif and badani vying for a place in the test side it will be difficult to explain why we need a non-performing captain, His fielding sucks big time. But I don't see him being removed in a hurry, maybe after 12 failures.

actually i m surprised you said so. This is problesm with us desis, we have short term memories. How come ganguly is non-performing captain. He started the australin tour excellence with a century. I second F & B, dont write him off.

They should ban him. so that a youngster can come on. Atleast youngster would be a good keeper. His resellience is gone and only re surfaces in sporadic matches when it already is a lost cause.

I feel you deserve to get an award for predicting exactly what would happen. As you said, all of a sudden our batsmen are having trouble. Good call.

My guess is that Indians will declare just after tea today.

And lo and behold! as soon as Pakistan will start to bat, the wicket will suddenly become full of surprises, the pacers will be sliding the ball into the batsmen (instead of bowling outside the off-stump that batsmen leave and the bowler puts his hands on his head) the ball will be turning all over (on the pitch and not when it is smacked over midwicket), the batsmen will be struggling and the fielders will starting actually holding on to the catches.

Then we can come here, and complain why PCB makes pitches that suit the bowlers (Indian bowlers, i.e.).

There is really no substitute for lack of bad cricket.

:nono: Dont ask ICC to do your dirty laundry.

FB, yeah Jaggu is god but as much as i hate to admit it, he's done a good job of bringing in proffessionalism. to give him his due he won't protect a player for too long.

Saby, look whose talking. Have you forgotten Moin played a good knock at Lahore and before that in NZ? heh

Anyway, I don't mean to get on Ganguly's back, but as i said IF dravid wins the series every failure of Ganguly's will be noticed triple.

Yeah baat to Sahi hai… :k:

I knew you will point that discrepancy out but you gotta weigh up the options. Ganguly is lot more than just a bat, he is a skipper. And like you said, his place is secure FOR NOW. But Moin and his case is different. Though iremember vividly Moin's innings :D

fair kaun karega :bummer: anyways i hope he makes me eat my words in next coming matches, i’ll be happy to do that and eat them with a few gulab jamuns

out bowling is over rated we hav consistently yeild 300 plus runs in ODIs and 700 for 5 wickets in test, who says this is a bowling attack ?

Indian bowling has been better and consistent. our bowlers are like net practice for them

CHANGE THE APPROACH, NOW BATTING IS THE KEY TO WINNING IN CRICKET, AS CRICKET HAS CHANGED, NOW SHALL WE TOO !

FRICKEN OPENERS HAV DISSAPOINTED ME FARAHAT TAFUEEQ, KICK THEM OUT I SAY, EVEN SHABBIR AND SAMI DID BETTER IN TEST BATTING

ITS TEST PLAY IT LIKE TEST MATCH, LEAVE THE BALLS, DON'T DO ANY PUNGA Z !
