Pakistan V India - 1st Test Match.

Speaking of De Silva, he is in the news again. APparently, South African fastie Andre Nel protested a wide ball in a test match by snatching his sweater from the umpire at the end of the over. Captain Smith also got fined for the same incident.

Why would a player show dissent on a wide call?. If anything I would save it for an out/not out call.

And I agree, umpires MUST always get unconditional respect from the players. It's not easy doing umpiring in cricket.

Well the ICC continously reviews them nowadays and that is the reason why Desilva lost his status recently.

Reviews are done AFTER the game is over. While umpires mistakes/errors swing the game one way or the other, frustrating players batsmen/bowlers.

How wide you have to bowl to get a wide ball in a test? Sheesh! Nel ko garmi ziyada lagg rahi hogi.

This test has been a nightmare for Pakistan. Consider the following factors:
* Plenty of dropped catches by the fielders.
* Pitch supposedly better for batting when India was batting.
* We have supposedly the better bowlers... whats the use when they concede 675 runs and manage only 5 wickets in 2 days? Isn't India (or any other team) better off who have meager resources in bowling, but still have a plan to follow and don't turn average batsmen into heroes?
* We are on the receiving end of the "human errors" made by the umpires, although if you look at the decisions of inzi and yoyo, looks like simon had the problem of itchy finger. Inzi was taking the match away from the Indians, and Simon obliged. Inzi looked set not only for a century, but also a double-century.
* Not one umpiring decision has gone against India in this match. Umpires conveniently "overlook" no-balls, specially if that means a pakistani wicket going down (in case of Moin).
* Pakistan will need a herculean effort to save this match. I have a bad feeling they are playing against 11 current indian players and a 12th person who is aspiring to be in Indian good books.

I think once we admit to ourselves that we do not have better bowlers, then the pain will not be as acute. Better bowlers are not made on reputation alone. Its how they bowl in the match. And Indians have clearly shown to be a better bowling attack so far.

Hi all on this wonderful Forum,

I have been a member of many Forums, and landed here accidently while searching for articles about Cricket, and I have to confess I found it to be very Friendly. (Unlike other Indo/Pak Forums where It was never possible for me to surf with my 13 year old son). I think the full credit for that goes to the Admin and Mods.

Having lived abroad since I was 18 I have made a number of Pakistani friends, and find that the lovely experiences and friendships I have had with Pakistanis is Potrayed here perfectly.

Having said that some info about myself.

Aejaz from Bombay (now unfortunately called Mumbai) over the years have lived in Bombay, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, London, Musact and now settled in New Jersey.

Happily married 1 (one) Beautiful wife 2 handsome kids both boys 11 and 13. (Both of whom think I am from the Dinosaur age).

Again Honestly speaking I did notice some Bais against Indians from some members, (There will always be a small element of bais no matter where you go), My advise to them, hey if you can dish it be prepared to Take it too!!

I know I know this not the right Place for Introductions, but hey it looks like the most popular, so please do bear with me.

Aejaz welcome to GS and KK. Hope you enjoy here and look forward to reading your comments and hope you participate actively in disucssions here.

Good one that, but on a serious note

I dont think it would be advisable to forget the W's at this time, they may not be in their Prime for Bowling but the Pakistani Management and Coach should definately utilise their expertise and talent for coaching the 3 S's.

Dont forget Shoaib and Sami are the most feared bowlers in the cricket world today, they just need direction and advise.
