Plus what is the follow on score to beat? 425?
[/QUOTE]

476!

Still 112 runs to go!

Moin Khan made it more difficult for Pakistan by getting out on last ball. He is no more the Moin Khan he used to be. He was known as fighter but he is not prooving to be one yeah he sure is keeping up with a drop catch here and missed stump there as he used to be.

Pakistan should now play for a draw. Somehow they HAVE to hang in there till atleast an 2 hours after lunch. Anything more than that will be a bonus.

Ganguly to miss second Test

March 30, 2004

Sourav Ganguly will miss the second Test against Pakistan at Lahore, after it was decided by the team management to fly him back to India for further investigation on his back injury.

Ganguly hurt himself diving in the outfield trying to stop an Inzamam-ul-Haq drive during the final one-day match at Lahore, and despite Andrew Leipus – the team physio – having worked with him over the past few days, there was no visible improvement in his condition.

“The MRI was clear, but he is still experiencing back spasms,” said Ratnakar Shetty, the team manager. “We have therefore decided to send him back to India. He will fly to Kolkata on April 1, where he will consult with a doctor who has treated him before.”

Shetty went on to add that the management were going to ask the Board of Control for Cricket in India to send Mohammad Kaif as a replacement. “There is a gap of ten days before the final Test,” he said, "and we hope he [Ganguly] will be fit for that

Kaif is expected to reach Lahore on April 2. In Ganguly’s absence, Rahul Dravid will continue to lead the side.

Every series it was the indians while playing with pakistan who were always complaining about the bad umpring but this time its pakistanis. Ironically they are playing in pakistan.

One will get back form others what they give to others.

Nice to see so many people who used to defend the umpires to the death and defend the wrong decision as right, to be on the other side of the fense today.

i will not comment on the decesions as i didnt see them. Crickinfo and times of india seems to agree with GS on inzy intresting to see what pakistani news papers will write tommarow, waiting to see them.

"Anil Kumble came to the rescue when he dismissed Inzamam for 77. The Pakistan skipper was unimpressed by the decision as TV replay showed that the catch claim came off his pads. "---times of india

**seeing all this I can have my last laugh
hahahahahahaahhah

Cause in every series i used to be in you peoples position nice to be on the other side for a change**

ahan.. ok. lets not get too cocky here, shall we.

Indian umpiring has just been as notorious as Pakistani umpiring over the years if not more. And this isn't even Pakistani umpiring, these are supposedly highly qualified neutral umpires. Also, I will remind you that there is one Indian inning to go. So, all this laughing etc could be reversed yet again.

A tip: humility and modesty are always a safe bet especially when you're on top and the majority of the people with you happen to be supporting the other side. I'm saying all this because I can see you getting a lot of flak if the match turns on its head by virtue of a couple of individual performances or some big umpiring blunders.

So, if I were you I would play it safe and be a tad bit modest and respectful to my fellow members here. :)

** Funguy's Prediction for Multan Test**

Pakistan gets all out for 400 by lunch on day 4
India bats again, scores 125 by Tea, sets Pakistan 401 to win in Four sessions
Pakistan all out for 240 by Tea on day 5

Well played India. Pakistan pays the price for dropped catches and batting without a heart.

fitay mun :nook:

Yeah, it was Australian umpire giving all those LBWs to Kumble's bowling when Pakistan played against India in India? right?

Anyway, I'm sure Taufel will make up for his mistakes when Pakistan bowls India by giving out ducks to Dravid, Sehwag, Tendulkar, Laxman and I'm sure all Indians will say "all umpires are human being, they make mistake".

third day is key in this test match and paki players have to apply themselves and make sure they dont lose wickets because on fourth and fifth day, you guys will be surprised how much turn this wicket may offer to spinners.

in essence, if paki players lose 6 to 8 wickets on 3 rd day, based on my experience, pak will lose the match (even if pakisatn manage to escape the follow on by a narrow margin but lose all the wickets by lunch on fourth day , pak will lose the match because it would be extremly hard to bat on this pitch in last innings for almost 125 overs).

if paki lose 3 to 4 wickets 3rd day and score almost 300 runs, match will be headed towards a draw....that is my prediction and rest of it only goid knows better.

well as i said in one of my earlier posts that if pak lose 6 to 8 wickets by the end of third day, pak. will lose the test match. Now that pak has lost 6 wickets, i think we will not be able to save the match. And again it really does not matter if we manage to save the follow on but lose all the wickets by lunch or say one hour after lunch, because india can bat real fast and set a target of 400 plus to be achieved in 120 overs...and i dont see our battin to survive for 120 overs playin on a 5-day old pitch......this pitch could be a nightmare on fifth day. i am sure with so much heat and pitch already devoid of any sort of moisture, a lot of cracks will develop by the end of fourth day...not good for us...not good at all...

i guess the only way we can save this test match is by staying at wicket as long as possible. Dont worry about runs because runs will come on its own once you are staying in the middle but we should try to go through as many sessions as possible because that will leave india with less time....If our battin can stay till tea, we will be able to save the match...

in essence, tommorow, the key will be the session played between lunch and tea....

Moen made such a blunder...if we lose the test match, moen dismissal may play a big role in it...not only he got out on the last ball by a mediocre baller but he also exposed our tailenders little earlier than expected......

How come Rediff is not running articles on getting rid of Taufell and Shep as they did with Bucknor not too long ago?

A bad display of batting by Pakistani openers 38 and 23 are not "appreciable" scores at all when you are to reach 675. Some unlucky decisions went against us, I hope and pray that India gets its equal share of bad umpiring decisions so there can by some consolation :D

Now our bowlers face uphill task, I don't hope a lot from them. Only if Razzaq could play the inning Inzi played against Bengladesh we may get away with a draw.

Taufell is a good umpire, Shep past his sell by date. Let's not go overboard about umpiring, there were a couple of decisions that went against us but $hit happens. maybe they were sick of seeing us drop so many catches and thought we didn't deserve any favours.

I think any umpire who exercises bad judgments or bad intentions, must be fined too...a 6 months jail term for one wrong decision is not a bad option... :)

Much as we are upset about the umpire's mistakes and I was very upset about the Inzi decision this morning, these are all part of the game and we have to bite the bullet and get on with the match.

Forget about the umpiring for a moment folks... I'd say Pakistani batsmen have shown a lot of backbone and skill to be in a position they are in, right now. Frankly speaking, they have performed much better than I expected. Cheers to Yasir, Inzi and Razzler. The guys have done me proud.

Razzler... may you get a century tomorrow! Insha Allah.

I agree that we should bite the bullet, but there must be some rule as to how many errors an umpire can make in a session/game and there should be some provision of captain/player appealing a bad decision.

:insha:

Taufeeq and Imran have really disappointed me :bummer:

Well the ICC continously reviews them nowadays and that is the reason why Desilva lost his status recently.
