True. I would have played Irfan Pathan. Decent bat + left arm and quite handy with the ball too (even though he has lost pace, usu. does well against Pakistan)

Overall a good match, it see sawed so many times, first India with 77/0 in ten overs dominated the proceedings and I thought we were looking at 180/190, but than Pakistan bowlers struck back beautifully and restricted them. India came roaring back with three quick wickets. This Kumar guy bowled beautifully, he would bowl out swingers and than produce an unplayable in swinger, the balls which got Nasir and Umar Akmal were just beauty's and unplayable. Pakistan than struck back through Hafeez and malik and than India did come back a bit towards the end. So a really fighting match on both sides and this is what makes Pakistan/ India encounters so thrilling.

CONGRATS overall a good match but it is just start of series...our batting still a big worry..
this irfan guy has improved a lot after making some technical adjustments to his action...he is now pitching the ball in right areas with much more force...he shd be retained for ODIs....
sohail tanvir is again useless..gul bowled well but remember he could not take pressure as always and gave away 13 runs in his first over.....it was irfan who took pressure and got rid of danger man kohli....
i have been sayin this for a while that malik shd play in ODIs especially against india on indian pitches....let afridi go but retain malik

Shoaib malik is not the most elegant batsman out there..Actually, to call his tennis shots ugly would not be too harsh but he did the job for us today. It seems as if he has a psychological advantage over Indians. They never looked comfortable as long as he was there and rightly so.
Today's innings Malik/Hafeez was very intelligently paced and played. You need architects to engineer an innings regardless of the format of the game.
Pak should play another specialist batsman for sure. A long tail after wicketkeeper and slashers at the top can't score 150+
I would bowl Malik instead of Afridi and add a batsman to the lineup

Partially agree with Harsha
In T20 atleast, Kamran is the best wicket-keeper batsman we have right now. was almost flawless behind the wickets today. And it w’d be quite unfair to start judging Nasir Jamshed-Ahmed Shehzad opening combo after just one match. Let them open in a few more games.
And even though Malik has a good record in ODIs against India, he struggles against most other teams. Malik’s average in his last 17 ODI innings (244 runs) is just **14.35!

Horses for courses
Malik plays well against India and South Africa, so let him play against them.
He averages 51.82 against India and 41.92 in India in ODI's... and 55.83 in South Africa in 9 ODIs (335 runs, HS 128) which is very very good
but tends to struggle on the seaming tracks of England (ave. 8.45 in 11 ODIs) and NZ
