For the whole series, we would discuss one batsman and bowler as stars of the day. Though it is too late for first test but I will still go ahead and post my nominies for the fourth day.
Test 1 Day 4:
Stars
Salman Butt for his extremaly mature and patient innings against a very potent attach. Way to go Salman :k: The way he has batted in this test tells that he is willing to let go some of his flamboyance and translate his starts into a worthwhile contribution.
Flintoff for his 4 wickets, yet again. Once again proving how dangerous has he become with the ball. One of my favourite players nowadays. I hoped and hoped he wouldnt perform against Pakistan but alas I was wrong.
Flops:
Giles for his thouroughly ineffective against Pakistani bowlers thus far.
Hasan Raza sir was making a come back but looked at sea unfortunately
Screw day 1 thru 4. I am about to write star of day 5................................ Danny Boy!
Duds of day 1: Yoyo and Hasan
Duds of day 2: Inzi's Captaincy
Duds of day 3: Navedul Hasan
Duds of day 4: Yoyo and Hasan

I am mostly dissappointed with Mohammed Yousuf's irresponsible style of batting.
Just when Pakistan needed him the most to hang around with Salman Butt to build a huge lead, he started playing strokes early in the innings which is very uncharateristic of him. His job was to support Salman Butt build a bigger lead of about 250-300 which looked a strong possibility when Inzi and Butt were playing.

Good Idea.
It will be interesting to count the stars a player gets at the end of the series and see if it matches with the man of the series.
Good thing about this idea is that we will have the first ever GS flop of the series. Is it going to be sami or bowden? Lets see:D

pieterson, maybe, after all, he was dropped twice before making that hundred. flintoff, i dont think so. hes a bowling all roundet, he knows it and i think hes ok with that role

How come you guys are not picking Akhtar for star? He was awesome on day 5....well througout this test he was awesome considering what people had to say about him before the test started.
I would say Butt was lucky to get MOM same way like he was lucky to get away with the runout and other drop catches. I would say it was Akthar and Kaneria who were the stars for PAK.

stars of the match: pak fans who kept their hopes till the last moment....
duds of the match: those pak fans who did not even bother to follow today's proceedings and already declared pak as loser yesterday (and more those who went on to watch the Ind/SA match instead of bothering to watch the pak-eng match)....
