Ok if the ball swings in then how could it pitch on middle stump and then stay straight…it was a classical outswing that Hoggi bowls to the righties which leaves the righties, like a legbreak…it does not straighten, it pitches and continues to swing away from the righties or into the pads of lefties..if it pitches on the middle, it will not hit middle stumps, it will hit the either the pads of the leftie directly in line with the leg stump or continue down the leg… but there is no way its hitting middle after pitching on middle…thats just absurd…I would’nt rely on a bunch of computer nerds doing online commentary to ascertain what actually happened because their understanding of cricket is very bookish at best…

Pak4ever, you do have a point. The ball would not have struck middle, but might’ve hit leg or maybe miss the leg altogether. They didn’t show too many replays, and I thought it was worth a closer look. Waqar said it was plumb though.

Waqar is talking out of a$$ as usual and doing his part to get future commentary assignments, he wants to portray himself as some sort of an objective expert...and Asim turned out to be a perfect target for him. He would'nt have done that against a more established player...

the ball was fast ..... a couple of more looks would tell us a little more...
as we say in tape ball -- yeh peene wala out tha -- but then again... nothing expected off these umprires...

But the sad part is our compatriot are hailing this as the best umpiring decision ever made in the history of cricket...wonder why so many umpires are able to bully Pakistani team, cause of our own self-deprication....

O yar kyon aabb dimagh kee lassi bana rhay ho, they didn't show alot of replays but it wasn't a dreadful decision. The ball would have hit middle and leg.

You guys are fuming over Kamal's dismissal. It was pretty close. And more importantly, was given out by the umpire. Lets all move on.

England couldn't have hoped for a better start for their bowlers. Young Pak batsmen failed to play to their potential. The real battle now starts, with Yousaf, Butt and Inzi on the forefront. Needless to say, Pakistan is in a very dangerous position right now. Needs 2-3 big partnerships. If England gets a decent lead in first innings, it will be very hard to save the match.

Yousaf will have trouble against the swinging ball. If he negotiates the next few overs safely, he'll be in a pretty good position to score big once the ball becomes old or spinners come on.

We all know how M. Yousef will play, he cannot be patient, he can play a beautiful innings like last test match but he can get out like the 1st test match

Mohammad Akram does really a good job at the Sky Sports studio giving good replies to these goras and not being afraid of getting kicked out of the studio unlike last time when I saw Waqar in Zee studio while Afro-Asia game. He was making fun of Pakistani players and was afraid of giving proper comments to shut the indians.

Making a very simple point that he is struggling on this pitches. What will happen on difficult tracks?
People will continue to argue that others openers also failed so why blame malik. Simple answer is that test opening position requires someone who is specialist. Yes others failed but atleast they were eligible for the position. Malik is NOT eligible for the opening slot so no point of experimenting with him.
Pakistan management has wasted a chance to try and prepare a specialist during this home series. I just hope that malik's failure will bring back their senses and they will try with some specilist for the Indian home series. We need to find some credible batsman before the all important english tour next summer.
