Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

last ball :(

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

There cannot be more disappointing moment than a batsman so good at crease after a long inning gets out on the last ball of the day.

Chronicles of new ball i guess and somewhat last ball pressure.

Great Inning Azhar Ali. He tried to make up the runout call of Sami Aslam and I think he did good.

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

Pakistan could have come out tomorrow and have dominated ENG with set batsman. Now they have to put their heads down till lunch at least.

I do not trust our 4th inning batting even with 150 to chase. We need to take at least 200 runs lead here.

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

Fantastic day at the ground, really enjoyed it but got bit spoilt at the end. Still I think Pak will or should take 150 runs lead at least.

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

credit goes to me for being on the ground and just my presence was enough to turn our fortunes around. :snooty:

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

Met the great man there. Very humble, very nice.

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

Stumps - Day 2

Pak 257/3

Azhar Ali 139 :k:

Tomorrow…Pakistan can be in good position provided the rest of the players bat too with some good presence of mind and pep up the RR…

The pic is not properly uploaded. I heard you were in line to take the autograph of Hafeez :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

Yes I wanted him to sign on the sole of my shoe. Idiot.
Let me upload the pic again.

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

Azhar Ali's dismissal on the final ball of the day put a damper on Pak plans.

However Pakistan are still in a very good position after day 2 thanks to that 181-run partnership between Sami and Azhar.

This batting performance was beyond most people's expectations, so overall a very good day for Pakistan

Should look to take a first innings lead of 100 at least. Even 150-200 is possible. All depends on Younis, Misbah, Asad and Sarfraz now.

Already said that earlier that you need to be glued to the seat in the stadium…

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

4 fifty partnerships and pakistan will have a lead of 200+

Donot bat again should be the target...play all day tomorrow...

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

Sami proved many people wrong today. He deserves a consistent chance now.

450 > 200

Looking good Ehsan bhai :stuck_out_tongue:

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

oh bhaio, stop these plannings of ‘should get this much lead…’, its new ball, and will be morning … going to be tough first 1-2 hours. If the new pair survives that the rest should be easy :insh: :jhanda:

Re: Pakistan V England - 3rd test at Edgbaston

See thats why I'm strongly in favor of inconsistent seniors to let go. For example if you try 4 youngsters (or new players so as to say) and 3 of them are flop, you still get 1 gem and that can serve for longer time.

However if there is a consistent senior like Misbah, he ofcourse will keep his place as long as he keeps performing. This old school methodology of not breaking winning combinations or keeping someone in the team just cuz they scored two series back is ridiculously outdated and should be thrown out rightaway.
