I wouldnt drop Asad based on one bad match. He is a quality player. We need to drop Younis and Hafeez for the next match and bring in Babar Azam and Rizwan. Open with Azhar, that is what he has been doing in all the three matches as our openers played pathetically.
Yea thats what I meant. They have to take a look at Asad in nets. If he doesnt look comfortable on pace and swing then drop him. Or else you can give him another chance since 3 changes in batting may not be a good idea.
However, wut i think is YK would still come back. they will drop hafeez only that too due to immense pressure. I still think we hv talent sitting somewhere on benches, it needs to given a chance like Sami Aslam.
Yes our batsmen struggle when the pressure is on but who told them to go into a shell after lunch. This is what happens when you don’t rotate the strike…You build pressure on yourselves and the team. They were going along nicely before lunch but lost the plot somehow after that.
The moment we failed to take a substantial first innings lead (should have made 450-500 at least from a position of 250 odd for 2 in the final session of day 2), I knew we were in trouble since we were going to be batting last in the game. It would negate any 100+/- lead. We let the advantage slip on day 3…quite literally
But these things happen in cricket.
Did English players also exhibit mental weakness at Lord’s when they failed to chase 283 with almost 2 days remaining???
Yes we are an inconsistent side, Yes our batsmen are mentally weak (but more often than not we will also play exciting cricket, ask any Englishman)…no amount of coaching or changes in personnel will change that…it is like saying ‘paani geela hota hai!!’ (Azizi)
English players are mentally weaker than Australian players…again no amount of coaching can/will change that.
As I said before, Day 5 batting is always a tricky affair. It is not often the pitch or the bowlers (English bowling was by no means unplayable. Although everyone is talking about it, I did not seen any appreciable reverse swing on day 5. There was probably just a little bit. Anderson and Broad are not Wasim and Waqar… period) or even the umpires (to be fair there were no dubious calls). It is the pressure of survival, of knowing that only one team can lose the game
Even if this Hafeez dude gets cleared to bowl, I doubt if he will be effective anymore, just like Ajmal case. So it’s pretty useless to go through all those tests etc and expenses to do that so that dude can stay even longer in the team
The whole tour some of these guys have failed to perform, i mean its a freaking test match, dead lifeless wickets and still these guys can’t take a little pressure or think logically and totally lack common sense. Add to that the pathetic management who tells them to go in their shells.
How the Eff do these guys get picked for a national team for so goddamn long? It’s the same crappy team from world cup.
Bowling has also become pathetic, these guys find it so hard to get wickets, and then on top we have crappy fielding which we just can’t seem to improve, no matter which coach we bring from anywhere.
I’m siding with England on the final test. Don’t get your hopes up guys, there is no way we can win when we have these same guys playing in every match, and just watch it will be the same guys in ODIs and T20s and same or worse results. Pakistan just can’t bat 2nd chasing a decent score.
They’re going to waste Sami Aslam as well as they’re going to sit him out later on and destroy talent.
Can’t believe this parchi Hafeez is going to be another Afridi, gonna play 30 yrs without significant contributions. Shameless and pathetic
