I think Boycs has a point when he says England are effectively playing with 4 performing (2 world class bastmen, Cook and Root and 2 bowlers Anderson and Broad) and 7 non-performing players. If any of the 4 have a bad game it’s good night Vienna.

I would say 4.5 players! (add Adil Rashid)

Simply put, outside of swinging, juicy English pitches England are not good enough.

How can you forget Zulfiqar who gave break through (Wood) at a very crucible time and also took the wickets of Bell and Root

Point noted but it has to be said that Babar was not that effective in the first innings of both test matches. The return of Yasir and the conditions (5th day pitch, England under pressure) greatly helped him in the second innings. I was looking at Babar’s career stats. He averages 50 odd with the ball in the first innings and around 25 in the second innings which adds further weight to my point. For sure spinners are most effective on the 4th and 5th days of a test but that is a huge difference imo.

But if we appreciate Wahab then for sure we should appreciate Zulfiqar who gave main break through in 2nd inning.
