Misbah is happy to hear this

A comment on cricinfo from possibly a very sour Indian:
Zafar: “Desperately sad for England. Put up an heroic effort. Shame the top order let England down. As for Pakistan a team of limited resources & quality is punching above its weight in those conditions. They will be hopelessly outplayed when they come to England.”
Tsk, Tsk, Tsk. Cry baby.

Very very sour … Specially when they just get a pitai of life time in their backyard
Re: Pakistan v England, 2nd Test, Dubai
I dont understand this decision :konfused:
It should have been King Misbah!!
Re: Pakistan v England, 2nd Test, Dubai
It was his bowling in the first innings which broke the back of English batting and with it their resistance.
Re: Pakistan v England, 2nd Test, Dubai
I get it but take 100+ runs of Misbah from first inning out and you’ll see marginal difference b/w two teams.
And then he scored again in 2nd inning, actually got this close to 2nd century whereas Wahab couldnt deliver the same which is fine. So my point is Misbah had a consistency for which he should have been awarded.
Still a win-win for Misbah and Pakistan but i was a bit surprised on that announcement.
Re: Pakistan v England, 2nd Test, Dubai
Visiting family in Islamabad and Today was a mixed day for me.
First came the earth quake at 8 minutes past 2 pm local time. At first I felt a small vibration underneath my feet and before I realised what had happened came the major tremor and all of us quickly vacated the house and ran towards the front lawn. It lasted 2-4 minutes. I have never experienced something like this in my life before. Alhamdullilah all my family and friends are safe. Sadly 200 odd people have died so far. Most deaths have occurred in KPK (almost 90% of all deaths). This is the most severe earth quake in the history of Pakistan (8.1 on the Richter scale) however in terms of casualties, the 2005 Kashmir quake which claimed around 75,000 lives is the worst in our history. The earthquake in 2005 was at a depth of 26 km, while today’s earthquake was at a depth of 196 km and hence perhaps not as devastating as the former tragedy. Aftershocks are expected to continue in the affected areas. May Allah have mercy on all of us and may He give the families of the deceased and injured, strength and hope during this difficult time- Ameen.
Then came Pakistan’s victory during late evening which was too close for comfort. The win no doubt overshadowed by the earlier sad event of the day. I thought Adil and Wood had saved the day for England. Then Asad grassed a regulation catch and it looked like the game was heading for a draw before Adil, after doing all the hard work played an unnecessary (it has to be said. but this is what pressure of having so many close-in fielders can do) drive and perished.

Re: Pakistan v England, 2nd Test, Dubai
The 4 architects of this victory were Misbah, Younus, Yasir and Wahab. On a batting-friendly track, Wahab’s effort on the 3rd morning in reducing England from 183/3 to 216/6 was truly the turning point of the game.

How can you forget Zulfiqar who gave break through (Wood) at a very crucible time and also took the wickets of Bell and Root

I was also expecting Wahab due to his magical spell in 1st inning. The match was almost in hand of England but that spell changed the situation.

The 100th partnership yesterday between Misbah and Younis was their 14th time together as a pair in test cricket!
