Re: Pakistan v England 2nd Test - 25-29 January 2012
Cricinfo
Pakistan wasted both their referrals on Trott and failed to refer an lbw against him which looked straightforward
Can we please make it mandatory for Pakistani players & captain to take deep breath and count upto 10 before making any decision on appealing for review? Seems like we get carried away more than any other team ![]()

Re: Pakistan v England 2nd Test - 25-29 January 2012
A bit of disappointment by our team in the morning. Last 3 wickets couldn't even add 25 runs??? Breaking Eng run to 207/5 is good, but they will have to get them before 300 otherwise we will be struggling next 3 days.
Re: Pakistan v England 2nd Test - 25-29 January 2012
Match is in our hands.....Eng wont survive the last innings on this spinning track
Re: Pakistan v England 2nd Test - 25-29 January 2012
Good Morning and Good fight back by Pakistan.
To tie down England from 165/1 to 207/5 is a good achievement. When I wake up and took a quick look, Eng were 153/1 and I was like "gaee bhains pani main" and couple of hours later they are 207/5. I'll take it any day. We have to make sure we dont give out lead of more than 30-50 runs. England's tail is one of the strongest tail around.
i was very disappointed when Pakistan only made 1 run today and lost all 3 remaining wickets :(
Another positive is that we did not let them score freely. If nothing else we should eat more and more time tomorrow :D
Exactly my thoughts...maybe not quite with thebuffalo and water thoughts, however very si ilar feelings, and then a big yes when i came into work ...now they just need to not let them get back in....need some morning hostility from gul, junaid as well, abso.utely cannot afford a broad and prior onslaught. In anycase Misbah can go conservative by all means and make it a no result...
Re: Pakistan v England 2nd Test - 25-29 January 2012
Even a lead of 50 runs could be too much on this track.
Re: Pakistan v England 2nd Test - 25-29 January 2012
There is nothing wrong with this pitch guys..pakistan just needs to apply themselves...
Re: Pakistan v England 2nd Test - 25-29 January 2012
Thanks to Saeed Ajmal, Pakistan are still in the game
It is clear that Pakistan can’t rely on their tail end batting to get them out of tricky situations. #8 to #11 are actually batting like tail-enders!!
Regardless of what England get in their 1st innings (hopefully < 300), Pakistan's top 7 batsmen incl. wicket-keeper Adnan must find a way to score 300-350 runs in the second innings
In the 1st innings Pak went from 103/4 >> recovery: 100-run partnership betwen Misbah and Asad >> 203/4 >> 257 all out!! This is something they must guard against. Although Asad batted well, he contributed to his own downfall. Hafeez and Azhar also played lazy shots. A repeat of such complacency or lapse of concentration and England would level the series 1-1 on day 4
Actually the English innings is also following a similar pattern
27/1 >> recovery >> 166/1 >> 207/5
We did not make the toss count..
Pakistan just did not make enough runs in their 1st innings - 257 was a pathetic score, this was probably a 350-400 pitch - and this may yet prove decisive in the outcome of this match
This game is probably 60-40 in England's favour at this stage.
Re: Pakistan v England 2nd Test - 25-29 January 2012
I am tense about tomorrow's play.
Re: Pakistan v England 2nd Test - 25-29 January 2012
dont be tense they can stil tie it if not win it.
Re: Pakistan v England 2nd Test - 25-29 January 2012

Abdur Rehman to Bell, FOUR, 91.4 kph, Bell smashes down the ground and dropped again this time by the bowler but this was a very stiff chance. Bell nailed the lofted drive and it burst through the bowler’s fingers and through to the straight boundary
That is some let off for England, what a missed chance for Pakistan…
