Pakistan V Bangladesh - Test and ODI series.

A great opportunity to have a look at Rauf in a safe and dead match wasted. Shabbir comes back in place of Zia and Hameed back in for Nazir. What are we going to learn from this match? Absolute zilch.

**a1kashur, **Yep but if Pakistan won the 5th ODI, 4th position will be confirmed, otherwise by losing today’s match, Pakistan will go down to 7th position according to the ICC ranking rules.

Anyway, Pakistan has won the toss, elected to bat first. ehsan chacha, are you planning to post screen shots?

  • Pakistan team:

Yasir Hameed, Mohammad Hafeez, Yousuf Youhana, Younis Khan, *Inzamam-ul-Haq, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq, +Kamran Akmal, Shabbir Ahmed, Mohammad Sami, Umar Gul.

  • Bangladesh team:

Hannan Sarkar, +Khaled Mashud, Rajin Saleh, Habibul Bashar, Alok Kapali, Tushar Imran, Mushfiqur Rahman, *Khaled Mahmud, Mohammad Rafique, Mashrafe Mortaza, Tapash Baisya.

Bangladesh has unchanged side for today’s match.

Mohammad Hafeez & Yasir Hameed open Pakistan’s innings… here we go… :jhanda:

Hafeez kicks off in style! :bhangra:

0.1 Tapash Baisya to Mohammad Hafeez, **FOUR, SHOT! ** overpitched, driven through cover for four!

Pakistan 4/0 after 1 over

Seems like our selection committe wants to experiment all they want when it comes to giving an opportunity to the sifarshi players. On the other hand when there is a chance to give an opportunity to a deserving cricketer like Abdur Rauf then the so called "experimentation" phase is ended. Pretty disgraceful.

The Pakistani team are wearing black arm bands on their shirts to protest the cancellation of the SA tour.

Does this mean that we say goodbye to the SAfrican tour?

What's the crowd level?

Pakistan 17/0 after 5 overs. Hafeez just smashed another boundary

I just don't understand the logic. If we are picking a side to win games then why was Shabbir dropped in the first place? Now when the series is won and against a minnow team wouldn't it have made sense to give Rauf a chance in this one? For me this is a dead match. We are going to post a big score in easy batting conditions then knock the Bungals over for around 200 or less under the lights. It's so predictable I'm not even sure it's worth watching.

PT: The crowd at the moment is disappointing. Maybe more will come in later on.

Xtreme, I agree the should have tried Rauf in this match. But then again they might be afraid that if they lose they will go down from 7th position to 9th, one under India and if they win they will be upto 4 position in the ICC rankings. That might be the reason for palying it safe, even though I would have favoured the inclusion of Rauf. Surely the guy must be better then Junaid, who played in 4 ODI's.

I thought that the objective was to build a new team for the future? Who gives a $hit about the rankings? If we can't try out new players at home against BD then we might as well not bother. I actually don't mind that Zia played although he shouldn't have got 4 matches. At least now we know he is useless. It would have been another learning opportunity to watch Rauf. Instead we've got a dead match of little interest and a result so predictable even bribing the players couldn't change the outcome. What a joke.

Pakistan 41/0

Hafeez : 24

Hameed : 17

RR: 3.78

Overs: 11.0

Pakistan 60/0 after 15 overs.

Mohammad Hafeez on 34*

Yasir Hameed on 26*

Run-rate: 4.00

Bangladesh hasn't given a single extra run. Tight bowling!

Hafeez out stumped, unfortunate decision, it was very close and there was doubt, the decision should have gone in the favour of the batsmen.

Pakistan 95/1

Yasir Hameed stumped out for 82

Pakistan 169/2

A good innings by Yasir.

Youhana on fire 42 off 29 balls 5 4s and 2 6s

** Youhanna 52 off 32 balls (6 fours and 3 sixes), out LBW. Also completed his 5000 runs in ODI. Congrats to him **
