Kapali records Bangladesh's first ever hat trick in second Test
Leg-spinner Alok Kapali recorded the first ever Test hat trick for Bangladesh on the third day of the second Test against Pakistan at Peshawar's Arbab Niaz stadium on Friday.
Kapali dismissed Shabbir Ahmed and Danish Kaneria with his fifth and sixth ball of the second over and then had Umer Gul on the first ball of his third over to achieve his hat-trick.
Kapali's effort helped Bangladesh dismiss Pakistan for 295 and gain a first innings lead of 66 runs.

Absolutely pathetic display of batting by the pakistanis... all credit goes to the Bangladeshi players and their coach Dav Whatmore. Their confidence must be sky high, thanks in part to our aweful, despicable strategy of playing painfully slow; as a result, their bowlers keep gaining more confidence, bog down our batsmen and scoring rate, and finally our batsmen manage to get themselves out. Thats exactly how batsmen like Javed, Sachin and Saeed DO NOT play. They get on top of bowlers, not the other way round. I agree with Umair bhai, if this is how our batsmen like Inzamam and Youhanna play against minnows at home ground, then they really belong to the A team. So once again, the solution to all our problems was kicking out Saeed Anwar, right? I bet he would have torn the Bangladeshi "attack" to pieces, as he did in his last 2 performances in the world cup against India and Zimbabwe. We are so lucky that Shoaib finally performed, or else we would have been humiliated big time here.

I don't see why people are bashing Youhana. He was 64 not out. If he didn't get support from the other batsmen, thats not his fault. No one stuck out there with him and Inzamam played a dumb shot and got out, and we were all expecting a big innings from him.
PCB must make proper adjustment in the team for the 3rd match, I just can’t over emphasize this but players at #1, #2, and #3 must solid
Hafeez, Taufeeq, Inzi must prove that they deserve to be in the team. It will be interesting to see what kind of opening pair combination PCB will come up with for the 3rd test.
. Most of you will agree with me about that Saeed bin Nazir should get a chance to play in the 3rd Match. Hafeez wasn’t affective in both bowling & batting test matches he looked weak and scared, he must be replaced by someone. Danish has been big disappointments for Pakistan we must add another spinner in the mix; I don’t know what are our choices at this point.*
I think in the next match Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Danish Kaneria and Inzimam should sit out unless these players can pull a miracle in this match. They should make way for Younis Khan, Saeed Bin Nasir and Farhan Adil. As far as spinner is concered I dont know if we have another quality spinner at the domestic level if not just play another pacer. Inzi has been dissapointing so far in the series.
If Pakistan want to keep Inzi in the squad then I'd say we boot out Taufeeq Umar. Yes, he played a good knock of 70 odd runs in the first innings but he is not at all dependable. He fails three times and when he is about to be kicked out he plays a good innings and remains in the side. He has been given enough chances now and its time to give someone else a chance. I'd go with Imran Farhat.
Pakistan will allow Shoaib Akhtar will rejoin English county side Durham after the second test against Bangladesh after all.
Pakistan had second thoughts about releasing the fast bowler after Mohammad Sami was ruled out of the ongoing test series against Bangladesh with a hairline fracture of the ankle.
But Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Lieutenant-General Tauqir Zia told reporters on Friday: “Akhtar will join the English county soon after the second test.”
He said the bowlers’ enforced absence would allow the selectors to try out new bowlers in the third test and one-day internationals.
Durham had released Shoaib under the understanding that he would return to them after the second test, which ends on Sunday.
Shoaib and Sami have headed Pakistan’s new-ball attack since the axing of Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis after the World Cup.
So who is going to be the replacement strike bowler, does Pakistan have another strike bowler in the team yet.

Shoaib Akhtar is going back to county cricket and Shabbir & Umar are not lethal enough, we will need another pacer to attack Bangladesh.
As far as bring Younis Khan, PCB may request Younis Khan but it is up to him, PCB can't force him since he has already notified them earlier.
Hafeez has shown his weakness in both matches, he needs to spend more time with A team and same goes for Taufeeq. Hafeez & Taufeeq both are young and may bounce back after correcting their technical flaws but time is running out for Farhan & Saeed bin Nazir. They are both talented player who deserver a chance.
Opening pair issue still hasn't been resolved, PCB should find best replacement for #1, #2 and #3. PCB also mentioned about Salman Butt playing in the 3rd test match in multan, there are alot of questions to be answers. I think they should bring Imran Farhat back if possible.*
With him PCB released chances of winning Test series, not sure about one day series. We will be lucky if Shabbir can repeat his performance of 5 wickets since Umar Gul has been a one wicket bowler.
