OK brother, this is a entire new lineup, with the lineup like this Bangladesh would stroll through our young inexperince players.
We want a mixture of young and old, and that means Inzi, Youhana, Younis, sami playing along young guys like some you mentioned above.
I would like to see Taufeeq Umar comeback as well.

I think Shadab Kabir has played some matches for Pakistan but didn’t show anything there. This is an entire new line-up and I think in every tournament, Pakistan will pick few of them to give them chance:k:

Hey what about Mohammad Wasim as an opener with Hafeez ..... since Mohd. Wasim will be available (i think) because it's winter now in NZ and he may not able to play for Otago .....

I thought PCB should've given him a chance to play atleast 1 match in the Natwest Challenge Series ..... this chap is use to green bouncy wicket since playing for Otago in NZ ..... Very wristy player indeed

I think Muhammed Wasim is a good batsman and he also proved when Pakistan played West Indies in 2001 or so:k:

Mohammad Wasim and Mohammad Hafeez :smack: Allah Maaf karay. Pakistan’s run rate would be under 1 run an over if these 2 open for Pakistan.

Pakistani Players playing in County Cricket: Mohd Sami, Shoib Malik, Shoaib Akhtar (may miss Bangladesh Tour)

*****Saeed Anwar : Some of you don't think he should get a chance but I think PCB should let him come back and play for atleast next 2 years.

a1kashur & Mr. Xtreme, :k:

PCB allows Shoaib to skip BD series

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to allow fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar to skip the home series against Bangladesh in August and September.

The Chairman of the Board, Lt. General Tauqir Zia told a website in London that Shoaib had been allowed to play for English county Durham until September after which he will have to return home.

“Shoaib wanted to take a rest from the Bangladesh series and we also thought it would be a good opportunity for us to try out some young and new fast bowlers in the home series,” Tauqir said.

“However, Shoaib had been told to ensure he is fully match fit when he returns home in September and makes himself available for the series against South Africa,” he added.

While Bangladesh tour Pakistan from August 17 to September 23 to play three Tests and five One-day Internationals, South Africa will play three Tests and three One-dayers between September 22 and October 28 this year.

A PCB spokesman said that Shoaib himself had requested that he wanted to skip the series against minnows Bangladesh and even the Pakistan team management had no objection to it.

Shoaib came in for strong criticism from former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis the other day who has asked him to stop issuing statements and start taking wickets for Pakistan.

Akhtar went for 69 runs in the second One-day International against England but came back strongly in the final match at Lord’s with a disciplined stint but could not get a wicket.

But his form and performances in recent matches have largely been inconsistent, a source of concern for the selectors and team management.

So, I guess Bilal Asad will replace Razzaq…Right? Good decision by Razzi. He definitely needed a break from the International Cricket.

Abdul Razzaq to skip series against B’desh

KARACHI: Pakistan all rounder Abdul Razzaq has joined Shoaib Akhtar in skipping the home series against Bangladesh starting next month.

**Chief selector Aamer Sohail said on Saturday that Razzaq had told the cricket board and national selectors he would not be available for the three tests and five one-day internationals starting on August 20. **

“Shoaib Akhtar has already been given permission by the Board to skip the Bangladesh series. And Razzaq will also not be available,” Sohail told Reuters.

Akhtar, the world’s fastest bowler has permission from the Pakistan board to continue playing for English county Durham until September 17.

**“The series against Bangladesh will give us a good opportunity to try out some young and new players in our rebuilding process,” **said Sohail.

“We are planning to rest some senior players and try out the fringe players,” he added.

Bangladesh come to Pakistan immediately after their tour of Australia. Sohail said Pakistan would be putting up their strongest squad against South Africa in the home series from September. **“That is the series we are targeting.” **

Can you smell what Mr. Sohail is cooking?

Sohail hints at trying out new combinations against BD

KARACHI: Chief selector Aamer Sohail hinted on Saturday that he and his fellow selectors would be utilizing the coming home series against minnows Bangladesh to try out many of the young and fringe players in the country.

Talking to newsmen this afternoon at the National Stadium where he had come to watch the National Under-19 trials for the Karachi and Baluchistan provinces, Sohail said that already senior players like Shoaib Akhtar and Abdul Razzaq had informed the Board they would be skipping the series against Bangladesh.

"Since some of the senior players want to skip the matches against Bangladesh we also feel it is the best time for us to try out some new combinations and give an opportunity to those players who have remained fringe selections for last few months.

The Bangladesh team arrives on August 16 and plays three Tests and five One-day Internationals in Pakistan. The South Africans will play three Tests and three ODIs from September 23 to October 27 followed by the New Zealanders in late November who play a series of five One-dayers.

Sohail stated that he was not sure at the moment if any more senior players would like to skip the series but certainly the selectors wanted to use the series to give a proper opportunity to the fringe players like Misbah-ul-Haq, Faisal Iqbal, Saeed Bin Nasir, Yasir Arafat etc.

“I can’t remember all the names we would like to try out as we have not sat down and discussed names so far. But yes there would be new faces in the series against Bangladesh.”

The former Test captain stated that it was a good thing that the Pakistan board had arranged for five Under-19 and ‘A’ team tours in the next six months. **“These series would give us the best chance to push along our rebuilding process.”

“It is in these matches that you can really test out the completely new players and also those who are knocking on the doors of the senior team,”** he added.

“Basically our aim is to prepare one or two players for one position in reserve. We know it is not possible to find immediate replacements for greats like Wasim Akram or Waqar Younis or say Saeed Anwar. But even if we can find players at this stage who are even 65 to 70 per cent of the greats we would have achieved a lot.”

Sohail said that so far the rebuilding process had progressed well since the World Cup as the selectors had identified atleast three to four players who were there to stay for the future and who had improved with every match. “That is a very positive sign for Pakistan cricket.”

Sohail who held a meeting with his fellow selectors at the stadium stated that the rebuilding process was a long one and required lot of patience. But this certainly didn’t mean that Pakistan would be losing all the time.

“I think since the World Cup our team has been very competitive in the three One-day tournaments and have fought hard and that is the best we can ask from them at this stage.” He insisted that when the Pakistan team was good enough to compete on equal terms with a team like Australia in the next series, the selectors would feel they had done their jobs.

“It is a good thing that the Board is also soon launching the National cricket academy. Because one thing we have to ensure is that we always a steady flow of reserve players in hand so that there is no vaccum if some senior retires or is out of form for a while.”

He made it clear that Pakistan would be giving the home series against South Africa this season the most significance. “That series is very important for us as they beat us the last time they were in Pakistan. We will come up with a strong combination against them.”

He also clarified that the series against Bangladesh was not being taken lightly at all. **“It is just that we feel in that series we can be flexible with our selections.”

On the future of senior players, Sohail made it clear that he had repeated time and again that the careers of Inzamamul Haq or Saqlain Mushtaq were not over and they can come back to the team on merit.**

Hope Saqi gets another chance soon.

Perfect chance for Inzi and Saqi to be brought back with both Youhana and Younis Khan being rested.

OK Aamir Sohail is a mess. Yesterday, he informed press that Razzaq will skip BD series. Today, Razzaq came out surprisingly what Sohail said.

PCB management is getting gross day by day!

Razzaq confirms availability against BD

KARACHI: Pakistan’s seasoned all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has made himself available for next month’s home series against Bangladesh.

A close associate told ‘The News’ on Sunday that Razzaq had never conveyed to the PCB or national selectors that he would skip the series against Bangladesh as he was playing for Middlesex in the English County Championship.

“Razzaq has been surprised to learn that chief selector Aamer Sohail has said he is not available for the Bangladesh series,” the associate said. “Razzaq in fact is very keen to play the five One-day Internationals and three Tests and also against South Africa and will make himself available by next month for selection,” he disclosed.

Aamer said here on Saturday that some seniors including Shoaib Akhtar and Razzaq had asked not to be considered for selection for the series against Bangladesh as they were playing in England.

The chief selector also stated that the selectors would try out several new players in the series against the minnows who have yet to win a Test match since their admission to Test cricket in early 2000.

Razzaq’s associate said that the all-rounder would be available for the entire home season and was very much enjoying his cricket and neither did he have any fitness problems.

The selectors are expected to finalise a list of probables for the national training camp scheduled to be set up in Lahore from August 10. Other Pakistani players like Muhammad Sami, Azhar Mahmood and Shoaib Malik have also confirmed they would be available for the home season against Bangladesh.

We could win something!

With Danish and the spinning all rounders, I don't see Saqi having a significant future on the team.
Man you gotta let Yassir Arafat play, his name alone is worth a spot on the side.
