I have said it millions times and I will say it again, we need to kick this khatmal guy. We need to bring Taufeeq and Yasir in the team to strenthen the batting. Onday is the game of batting. If we have six solid batsman including a part timer but decent keeper then we can play 3 specialist bowlers and two allrounders (Razzler and Afridi only).
For next matches I would suggest.
Butt
Taufeeq
Yasir
Yohanna
Inzi
Afridi
Razzler
Rao
Rana
Asif/Sami/Khalil (If Shabbir or Umer were fit then they would be the automatic choice)
Actor
^ I would rather bring Younis who has been scoring runs on this tour, rather than trying Taufeeq out of the blue. Younis or Taufeeq, who ever keeps wont make much of a difference. But on the other hand it will mean that Hafeez will have to open so maybe Taufeeq isnt such a bad idea. Hafeez bowled satisfactorily so shouldnt be dropped straightaway.
Brining Younis in as a keeper would be a short-term solution but I agree that we need to adopt this approach for this series so that we can strike the right balance. Akmal has been disappointing in this series apart from one bright innings in Sydney that prolly kept him in VB series squad.
Here is a thought. Haddin is def a better bat than Akmal, why not lkure him to Pakistan?
dunno about everyone else - but in the end, I wasn't too disappointed... at least I saw 80% of our team putting up a fight and that's all I ask for - we were sooo close and that's somewhat of a consolation.
Butt, Inzi, Afridi and Razzler were all class - Youhana, and Malik contributed too! I jsut wish our bowlers had clicked better in the first fifteen overs.
Finally, Inzi could've made some better tactical decisions around the 30-35 over mark to restrain the batsmen but may be I ask for too much. I was telling myself that we're still in the game and if our captain was a little more aggressive, we could witness a win.
^ Yes we showed hunger that makes you win matches from no where.
I agreeon that Inzi's point as well. He helped Haddin-Lehmann partnership settle in by providing them with easy singles. One or two more men in the circle at that stage would have saved some runs. But I think we know by now that Inzi is not the sharpest captain on field
That Clarke guy is an exceptional young player but luck has been favouring him as well. He was dropped in the slips against WI and today Rana dropped him earlier on (If i am not mistaken).
What an innings by Afridi! All his critics who say he can only bat against teams like bangladesh, zimbabve, or Kenya can shut up now. He destroyed the world’s top bowling attack in their own country…that tells you the talent this guy has. He batted well and then he bowled well too. What can I say…he is improving day by day. I think the score of 272 was a good enough score…Akhtar and rana jus could not deliver the goods. I think this is where we really missed Shoiab Malik’s bowling…only if he would be allowed to bowl…We wouldnt have to play Hafeez
I think for the next match…Younis should replace Akmal and Anjum should replace Hafeez. This would give us a good bowling attack…with Rana and Shoaib to open followed by Anjum, Azhar, Razzaq and Afridi.
This was a match where u can say ONE HAD TO WIN. now every onehas realized that we desperately needs SHABEER AHMED and MUHAMMAD SAMI in our 11. AZHAR is good all rounder but we alreay have anough all rounders. and NAVEED is a smart bowler but we definetely can find better than him he rellies on batsman,s msitake too much not attacking one. for opening pair there is no better than TAUFFEQ(best player in paki) and SALMAN BUTT.HAFEEZ dont have a chance n this 11 maybe on next 11. but end of the day good job PAKI .
he might be too GORA for us, lets just ask Tatenda Taibu to do us a favor and join our team…
i dont think we can ever (again) produce a batsman-keeper of taibu’s class (even)…
*Hey, Shoaib haters, McGrath went for 54 in his 10 overs. Lee went for 61 in his 10 overs. It's not Shoaib's fault that he wasn't brought in when Lehmann had just arrived at the crease. Inzamam uses him in such an idiotic manner; I don't blame him for not running in full steam. *
I m not shoaib hater or anything like that. but if u r comparing him to brett lee and mcrath den he is not there yet i know SHAOIB KA ROOB APNA HAI. he is like BLAAN to every batsman but mcrath and brett lee r wicket takers. they do wat theey required to do. They play for team. not like our shoaiby “key mujhey wahan bulaya hootaa tu main achhee bowling kerwataa” …
but as a paki
SHOAIB IS CHEETAH
ok i have some say abt team .
first why we missed YASIR HAMEED. is hafeez any better than hameed ? and wat happened to shabeer ahmed. according to shabeer he totally fit .he just visited my hometown for some cricket ceremony. And y isnt he getting pick. rana naveed is no where around him he is just domestic player he shouldnt be internaional player. AND Y KEEP FORGETTING MY FAVORITE PLAYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE TAUFEEQQQQQQ HE IS THE BEST OPENR IN PAKI Y............................. MOOTOOOOOOOOO PLZZ TAUFEEQ DESERVE A CHANCE IN THIS SERIES...
I don’t quite understand much of what you are saying; you need to learn how to type. No offence to you. However, I will say that Brett Lee is quite overrated; he proves to be extremely expensive in the one dayers, however he can take early wickets against weak oppositions. I was really happy to see Salman standing outside the crease to him and creaming him through the covers. In the test arena, there is no comparison between Shoaib and Lee; Shoaib is far superior.
^^ fyne and well said, apparently the distinction is which country they represent and what lies as the definition of discipline, principle. In short man I hope Pakistan choose Umer gul over Shoaib AK-tor, Can they do that? I dont see that, if your responsibility is lead from example then shoaib is a shame!
Is he a class act? I dont think so.
Is he valuable to the Team? Currently Yes!
