Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

24 runs in the last two overs.

141/3

Looks like an Australian victory.

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

Aus: 183/4 but Aussies should win easily.

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

:hinna:

It's a slow and low kind of surface where 240/250 is a winning total if u've have decent spinner or two in ur side.

Only the newball is driveable if bowlers work up pace upto 140kmh but everything around 130 or less and batsmen struggle to work it off the square

The ball grips and spins a lot ...... it's that sort of a wicket where scoring a hundred is only possible when u come in as opener or 1-down ...... and not surprisingly most batsmen have a low strikerate arount 65/75

SA bowled at 140Kmh and Akmal collected on the 3rd bounce so u can imagine what kind a pitch tha is. It's not easy for the batsmen but refreshing to see that Bowlers dominate things in an ODI which is a rare scene anyway

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

Australia did their homework before the game whereas Pakistan didn't. They should learn from this.

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

^ yea well done Aussies.
Pakistani batsmen never try to accumulate singles everyone was trying to hit boundaries. Hopefully we'll see a better batting wicket in Abu Dhabi.

Well spotted Sir

Dean Jones said that when Younis did hit 2 boundries only to get out a few balls alter when lookes settled.

From Over 15-40 u need batsmen like Malik and MoYo who score 4-5 runs per over without too much fuss and eke out even the odd boundry ..... unfortunatly MoYo is not available but Malik as a former captain should be given this specific role with Support from Younis, Misbah and Akmal

I hope they can post atleast 270+ scores coz the Abu Dhabi wicket will be better for stroke play

Even when Akmal and Afridi were batting together (our last hope really) it looked for a while as though we might get to 230 but then PAK batsmen lost the plot completely making the cardinal mistake of not batting out their full 50 overs.

kher koi baat nahin, 1-1 with three to go

It has to be said though that our middle and late order looks thin minus Yousuf and Razzaq

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

*No Yousuf, crap like Rao in the team (when we can easily have Rana or Razzaq in his place, which will shorten the tail), I don't expect much from this team. This Aussie team, I repeat, is a joke and needs to be beaten if Pakistani cricket has any hopes of a revival.

I'm impressed with Ajmal (even though he's a poor fielder and does seem to straighten his arm when bowling the doosra). His offspinner is very similar to his doosra, and often times even I was unable to pick it up, with slow-motion replays mind you! Symonds played him very well though, and I think he did that by playing the spin off the pitch (the slow wicket helped in that regard).*

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

^ Your boy, Akhtar hasn't taken a wicket so far either. After bowling three good overs, gave away easy runs with his bowling and fielding for the rest of the match. :)

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

^ hes probably afraid of getting caught, ICC did announce randomized testing.

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

bus imran nazir ko dal dein team mein

if he works, he's a one man army like shahid afridi but unlike afridi he has higher rate of survival :@:

*And your boys Rao and Gul haven't done jack sh*t either. Kick them out too? Akhtar bowled a very good spell yesterday in the first ten overs. Watch the match first and then tell me who performed badly or didn't.

Hopefully the pitches used now will have some lift for the seamers. Bowling on a slow, dead track doesn't help any fast bowler in the world.*

Re: Pakistan v Australia, 2nd ODI, Dubai (24th April)

*wow game ... i m ur fan now ......
*

So two wrongs make a right. You are the one who says Pakistan cricket cannot survive without him and now that he has not performed, in order to justify his pathetic performance start pointing fingers at others. Very good strategy. You should pray that he does his usual act of breaking down so that the myth of him being the best in Pakistan continues.

Gul has performed better than Akhtar, check the stats. Gul has not only taken two wickets but completed his overs and his economy is much better than Akhtar's.

Pitch is not an excuse, other fast bowlers from both sides have performed much better on the same pitch where Akhtar have failed so far.
