Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

^ Yaar its true that he has shown irresponsibility, but his main job is wicket keeping, its not to rescue a middle order collapse...
lets not ask the sheep to herd itself, the shepherds are asleep and the wolves (bowlers) are after them. The top and upper middle order need all to step up.

he is the only and best w/k there thus far...what else can you do...

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

Well the vigil is over...MoYo out...

proly the tension got to him...

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

Hats off to Pakistan team for making it to the 5th day and putting up a good fight in 2nd innings.

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

hats off to the few who made it happen,,,,

some suckers need to go....

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

Thanks for keeping us interested in the game for 5 days :k:

I'm thankful to Ajmal for giving Ricki Ponting a real good 'saika' at the end. Paisay pooray ho gay.

Yeah, lately he's started to throw away his wicket regardless of match situation. This is time for him to show some seniority and experience, his younger brother won't learn when he sees his elder brother throwing away wicket so carelessly.

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

^maybe he is one of Younis' supporters....

so he is not happy with moyo..you can see there is difference in their approach...Akmal played farhats bowling when ever he got a chance...but MoYo did not..

lets see...ho sakta he is upset with MoYo...

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

What's the score?

lo kar lo baat - ramayan khatam ho gayee and somebody is asking Ram kaun hai!

251 for 10
require another 170 to win :)
but no more player left to bat :(

Well, i was not following the match directly. . . i was following the score here on this thread. . . and at lunch, pak were probably 239 or something for 8. . . and the next thing u know ,people here start talking about who should be dropped and flogged and who should be brought in. . . . i thought may be lunch was still on!

well, all i can say is better luck next time. . . .

One thing which stands out , though, is the decision by Ricky to declare. . . . explains y the aussies r so competitive and successful. . . .subcontinental teams won’t ever do that. . . . hats off to this guy!:aliyish:

Congratz Aus  :k:

yes :)

Tulleybaaz kings got wrapped up in style :D

chalo jee...all our hopes came crashing down..

The first innings deficit was just too big in the end

@ Fayz : True. That is sadly our problem. 250 is simply not a good enough first innings score in tests. But one should also blame the fielders (3 dropped catches + 2 missed runouts) for not backing the bowlers well and letting Australia pile up 450 odd in the first innings

@ Antumul Alona: Not sure about Misbah (as we do not have many other bright options plus he did get some runs in the first innings) but I definitely do not want to see Imran Farhat, Abdur Rauf and Faisal Iqbal playing in the next test

jealousy knows no bounds. tulley baaz have one championship under their belts, flat track bullies have none.

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

The match was lost in the first over when both Umer and Misbah fell. After that it was just a matter of time. let's hope that they can get their act together at Sydney where Pakistan should play both spinners.

i would like to get rid of both openers but who to replace them. Both are club standard players and will never be international players.

chalo it made someone’s day atleast…lagta hai raat bhar khushi k maarey neend nahin aye

disappointed that we lost but this is what 4th innings pressure is about and no team is immune from such collapses..These things happen in cricket

Look at South Africa (on paper a superior team than England), yet they collapsed in their own back yard for a paltry 133 in the second knock against, it has to be said, a not so menacing English attack

This result just proves that Pakistan still has a long way to go in tests

Better luck next time :k:

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

Even Geoff Lawson says that Faisal Iqbal is not a Test No.3 player, which we all know as well. But its the Pak Selectors who havent got a clue and need to get a reality check instead of insisiting that Younis Khan now play in Pantangular Cup on Jan 1st to prove/regain his form. While the national team is bleeding and the tour Management keeps asking for Younis Khan.

OS: Statistics show that Pakistan have crossed 350 just twice in their last 14 Test innings; there is talk Younis Khan coming over and he has played in six of those innings. So it is not as though there will be a miracle. Where do you see the problem with Pakistan’s batting?

GL: It is just that lack of experience. You cannot replace that experience; you cannot make it up in the nets, you just have to go out and play. Hopefully Pakistan will be better in the second Test for what they have done here. They have got some things they can be positive about and some things they can improve. They can certainly field and catch a lot better. Australia now know that Mohammad Aamer can bowl them out and if it turns in Sydney and Danish Kaneria can bowl there, then Australia will be challenged more because this is an Australian side that is challengeable.

There is no doubt that the coaching staff can take some positives. Younis Khan can bring a lot to this team and its not just to do with his batting; it is to do with his enthusiasm in the field and a few overs here and there and he is a wonderful fielder as well. Sometimes he gets a bit eclectic as a leader and the players have had a problem with that. If Yousuf is the captain and Younis takes up position as a senior player I think that will be a good situation to have.** Without criticising someone like Faisal Iqbal too much, he is not really a Test No.3. Pakistan need a Test No.3. If they can have Younis at No.3, all of a sudden it looks like a solid batting line-up. **
