Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30
170/3 at the end of the day. Pakistani need 252 runs and Aus 8 wickets. First session tomorrow is going to be crucial.
For Pakistan, these 2 (yousuf and umer) are best bet. If they can stay together for at least couple of hours tomorrow, Pakistan can fancy their chances ..... anyway key is NOT to lose a wicket in first session tomorrow.
One thing they need to think is that target is 252 and not 422. 422 just look too daunting ... 252 can ease
nerves.
much better performance from Pakistan in 2nd inning although not out of danger yet but not as helpless as in the first inning in all 3 departments ...
win or lose..positive batting by Pakistan. It is clear Yousuf wants to win! I like it! History in the making!inshallah
Umer Akmal is God send! and ofcourse who can forget about Amir. It has been a loong road to land these two players! If I recall correctly, we didn't have any real talent after Afridi.
Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30
Wow, just wow. Before the test began, I said it would be an achievement if Pakistan stretched it to the 5th day. Now here we are, not only on to the 5th day, but making it comfortably, with even an outside chance of a miraculous win!!!
Now Pakistan may yet make a mess of it or self-destruct on the 5th morning, but I am proud of the way we fought back today. Lets pray and hope for the best tomorrow.
Umar Akmal is a bit too impetuous for comfort. Yousuf should be constantly trying to calm him down.

This is what a test match is all about, you go home excited, bowlers and batsmen have fair chance, you have play well shall win, but we are all enjoying Cricket.. and that is the best so far in this match....

Australia is known to throw away matches even after piling huge totals on board. Be it Test Cricket or ODIs, Teams have had successful chases against Australia in Tests and ODIs. Lets see some of it.
*Top 2 successful target chases in Test Cricket. *
Top to successful target chases in history of Cricket happened against Australia.
*1. **In 2003, West Indies successfully chased the target of 418 Runs against Australia. This is the highest chase in history of Test Cricket. **And guess what! while chasing 418, West Indies were 3 out for 73 at one stage and 4 out for 165 at another stage.
*
*2. **This is not so old, Just a year ago(in 2008), WACA became a destruction for Aussies when South Africa successfully chased 414 Runs against Australia. That was the first match of series and South Africa went on to win the series as well. **At one stage of match, South Africans were 3 out for 179. *
So Pakistan can hope for the best tomorrow, we still have enough batsmen to chase the target. Umar Akmal, Yousuf, Misbah and Kamran- all are capable of doing it.
Top 4 successful target chases in ODI Cricket.
All top 4 successful chases in history of ODI Cricket happened against Australia. The most famous 434 match is the highest successful chase in history, which South Africa chased against Australia. The next 3, all are by New Zealand, Kiwis have chased the targets of 350, 340 and 332 against Aussies.
When everyone was saying against Pakistan, I was the one looking idiot from day one saying and praying for Pakistan and its win baqi sab dil tornay wali baataN kar rahay thay, bhullakar log zara peechay k post daikhain(not you but most)
Khair dair ayad durast ayad … sardi ho ya garmi, hamara jeena marna Pakistan k sath , PAKISTAN Zindabad
hamari team is like a diesel engine truck, that takes time to start! secondly our team mates are / or might be in under some psychological pressure due to 2004-2005 series in Australia. Most of the players are playing first time in Australia and are young at both age+experience! They may have some personality complexes that includes language barrier as well which was mentioned by Ausi commentator on day one and two as well!
This relatively new team needs some confidence, which can be given by Pakistanis, we must not discourage any Pakistani when they are playing for Pakistan! We should back them up no matter how they perform! They are all good, but they need some moral support form us, they have the ability to perform but we need to give them some time to adjust and earn some ease of mind! we should not put moral pressure on them, we need to give some fair chance to perform! Otherwise they will lose the confidence and the result will be the destruction only, not only they will destroy themselves but also will harm Pakistan by not performing well!
and yes Salman Butt is a class players too ((( )))
