Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

Aus hitting back ..... they have to get Watson somehow .... and they have drained their reviews ....

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

pak performed well in the last session.........somehow if pak batting clicks they can draw this match......n believe me its aus is not gona like it

You're right. The two W's also played a big hand in that win at Sydney

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

the 2nd review that pak took was pathetic......they really need to know how to take reviews

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

first signs of fight from Pakistan today. and who else but Umar and Aamer. must not forget Misbah as well. If somehow our bowlers can dismiss australia under a lead of 400 with 5 sessions, it could well be a good match at the end. but i am just hoping Ponting's natural pessimism takes over and he just gives us 4 session to save the match...

but pak have to bat really well even to survive 4 sessions on the last day

Having seen how we batted, there is a good chance that Ponting w'd declare at Lunch tomorrow setting Pakistan a target of 400+. Surviving 5 sessions with this batting line-up! hmmm

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

I am going to be brave and predict a draw in this match.

Thora aur jigra dikha dain, say this :-p

Pakistan will win :)

The match is in shape already and hopefully the result will be in favor of Pakistan either a win or a draw inshAllahm good luck Pakis !

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

If we can manage a play on 5th day, it should be considered as moral victory :D

I would have said the same had there only been a day remaining :D

but with two full days remaining and our current batting problems, need a miracle to salvage a draw from here

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

Dragging this test to the 5th day with 3 bowlers and fragile batting will be considered an accomplishment.

Re: Pakistan v Australia 1st Test Melbourne , Dec 26-30

You know what I would love to see, Watson NOT getting a ton.

+1 :D

Yes Watson was involved in a few ugly on-field exchanges with Windies players and was infact fined for his excessive celebration after dismissing Chris Gayle in Perth

As for PAK batting problems are surely there but fielding is our weakest point right now

There is not much to choose between the two attacks but Aussie fielders certainly make sure that their bowlers do not have to end up taking 2 wickets of the same batsman. By contrast Pakistani bowlers often end up bowling out the opposition twice (or atleast 1.5x) in one innings when we account for the dropped catches, missed stumpings and runouts. Give SA or Aus fielding side to our bowlers and then see how they perform. It will atleast be an even contest then.

We dropped 3 catches and missed 2 runs outs in Australia’s first innings i.e. 5 potential wickets gone to waste thanks to the fielding which is not acceptable at this level

Something funny to share. There was a cricinfo comment that yesterday during the tea break, Pak was holding their fielding practise and Salman Butt dropped 3 chances in practise... Thank God he held on to Ponting's chance.

PCB needs to put some panelty/insentive on players.

Such as:

10% of match fee for each dropped catch.
10% of match fee for getting run out or missed run out chance.
10% of match fee for scoring less than average.
10% bonus on scoring 50+
20% bonus on scoring 100+

etc etc

May be it'll improve our team's performance.
