Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

?

Babur is not for recon missions. It is however based on the same technology as UAVs, but more advanced.

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

hilarious. do you work for pak defense labs by any chance, LKC?

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

Does it matter? I don't find anything hilarious.

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

can you explain why you say that the babur cruise missile uses the same technology as a UAV? are you talking about propulsion or guidance?

its hilarious man. trust me.

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

Both propulsion and navigation systems of Babur (from whatever knowledge we have of it) is similar to those of the UAV’s that Pakistan produces. 1) Babur uses a turbofan engine; many of the advanced Pakistanis UAV’s use turbojet engines. 2) Babur can be guided with GPS systems, but is currently believed to be using an INS (i.e. matching from presaved maps); Most of the UAV’s use the GPS system, and ID has already developed many FCsystems that can perform the duties of an INS.

Cruise Missile:
A missile that is an unmanned, self-propelled weapon-delivery vehicle that sustains flight through the use of aerodynamic lift over most of its flight path.
www.fas.org/nuke/control/start1/glossary.htm

UAV:
Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. A powered aerial vehicle sustained in flight by aerodynamic lift and guided without an onboard crew. It may be expendable or recoverable, and can fly autonomously or be piloted remotely. There are two categories of UAVs: drones and RPVs.

VULCAN MK-1
The VULCAN MK-1is a versatile decoy and target aircraft system available in a variety of configurations ranging from expendable piston engined target drones to **high-speed turbojet powered **versions with advanced remote-control and auto pilot systems to provide simulation of attack Aircraft, Sea skimming missiles and other guided munitions. The MK-1 forms the core of this family and is a high-speed, low-cost expendable target that is easily deployed and maintained.

The IFCS-7000 can be mounted on most Pakistani UAV’s (most likely on the next variant of the Shadow and/or Vision). Its capable of performing the duties of an INS, such as that believed to be mounted on the Babur. Most Pakistani UAV’s use GPS for navigation. Whichever system Babur uses, it is already present in our UAV’s (or already developed for UAV’s).
(IFCS-7000, ID, http://www.idaerospace.com/fcs.html)

Cruise Missiles are “fire-and-forget” type of vehicles - they need not navigation & control from ground-crew, nor are the designed for the purpose of monitoring/spying, so the need for the extras such as surveillance cameras, auto-land & auto-find base are not needed.

So what is it that u find hilarious?

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

This brilliant stuff below.

:omg:

this is like saying both UAVs and cruise missiles fly in the air hence they have similar propulsion and guidance systems.

anyway, lahori taacknology zindabad!

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

No, that is a retarted and invalid analogy.

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

Well our Lahori technology got you indians scared enough to run to big daddy Putin to buy more weapons

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

what did we buy in response to lahori cruise missile?.....

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

helmets.

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

Theres not much they can buy in response to such a weapon.

Re: Pakistan uses Predator drones in Operation Silence

Shriek11, lift you wig and put this underneath it until next time you need reminding. I have been reports like this for many years now but I can’t be bothered to find them so i’ll only give you the latest.

US to back military action: Boucher
*Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - Rajab 02, 1428 *

By Anwar Iqbal

WASHINGTON, July 17: Sometimes a military action becomes necessary to fight militancy and if Pakistan decides to take such an action against the militants, the United States will support the move, a senior US official said on Tuesday.

Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher also expressed the Bush administration’s intention to provide $300-350 million for training and providing better equipment to the Frontier Corps, including night-vision devices and body armour.
