Does anyone know if anywhere in Pakistan if there is a subway/underground system?

No, they don't put their money in the right places. They just spend all their money on nukes and let their people starve. A mass transit system is already in place from back in the British days: the railroad system. It connects most of the major cities in Pakistan. There are also coach buses you can take - for ex. between lahore and I think Pindi?

There may be other similar coach buses, for ex. between karachi and hyderabad - not sure though.

Karachi alone needs a light rail system of some sort, or at least a better and more effective busing system.

ahhh not only is there no underground in pakistan, i think its a bad idea to have it in pakistan to begin with, we have infrastructure isues that remain unresolved..water floods streets because of sewerage and storm water drainage system capacity and abuse of those systems anyways..you dont want to have subways flooded, causing damage to the system, the vehicles and just causing all kinds of havoc, secondly, with the security situation as it is today..its a little dodgy.

affordable, reliable and pervasive mass transit is needed, much of it can be done by better plannign and some expansion of existing infrastructure of rail, but that does not seem to be a priority. But then again..its the public that is not holding their reps accountable year after year..

There actually is a local train system in Karachi, over ground. I forget exactly where to where, but its been existence for a while.

yup, i have actually been on the train a few times..was usually fairly empty, but this 80s. the issue was routes, and frequency, it simply was not convenient.

theories were that there was pressure from private trasnporters to not sort the railway, because that will eat into their business, but i dont know if there is any truth to it. May just be incompetence by local railway ppl in general

don’t know what the current status of this project is… a few years back, the govt. was pitching a launch date for 2012.
