t least 120 people were killed and scores injured in Pakistan on Wednesday when a passenger train crashed into another at a station and a third train then ploughed into the wreckage, police said.
As police and rescuers searched for survivors and bodies among the mangled remains of carriages, a police commander said the toll from the pre-dawn disaster could rise to 150 and a senior railway official said human error was to blame.
this points to utter incompetence of railway signaling staff:-
1st They FAILed to stop or inform Karachi Express about broken down train.
2nd even when Karachi express passed the signal and collided with the broken down train they again failed to stop the traffic in both directions. result the 3rd train got its way to collision course!
It doesn’t take a rocket scientists brain to figure out what could happen if two trains are collided.. it seems like they totatly ignored the possiblity of some debry on other track.
I think the staff should be charged for criminal negligence.
After looking at the incident I think numbers are could be higher...may be around 5-600 - but I hope I am wrong, the reason I am saying is... 3 trains and in each compartment there could be more than 50 people at least or more…
This is one of the sad incident happened lately, in this high technology age, when we are talking about 1200 MB data transfer in one second and reaching at different planet etc… but sadly using rail track made by Gora in 1940…
So disappointing and so depressing…
woun't do any good, now its turned into mutation. and in last 50 years these mutants have digged a deep place in our roots. all we need now to start from scratch.
Oh yea I heard that on the radio this morning. They even had to cut through the steel to get out some of the survivors. May Allah help their families through this time and may their souls rest in peace.
whats wrong with you ofcourse london would get more coverage its logical. In the west london being geographicallly and economically closer affects more lives. News teams broadcast what people wanna see or what would get more attention.
