I wish Saeed Anwar, Shahid Afridi and Inzamam are there…:(…
Wish them good luck
…
It is a damn shame but i seriously doubth that they will give Saeed Anwar another chance. I think Saeed Anwar and Hafeez would be perfect. Saeed Paly #1 and Hafeez playing #2 but I know It ain't gonna happend. I think Yasir Hameed & Faisal Ather should get a chance to play in England.
These are few people I think should get a chance to play. It is a rebuilding process and I think we should give some of the senior players some break and try new players........
PCB should select 15 best players (combo of senior & younster)
01 Saeed Anwar
02 Mohd Hafeez
03 Yasir Hameed
04 Mishbah
05 Inzi
06 Yoyo
07 Shoaib Malik
08 rashid Latif
09 Kamran Akmal
10 Mohd Sami
11 Younis Khan
12 Shoaib Akhtar (banned for 1st game)

I am wondering why PAK has to tour in the middle while ENG is busy with ZIM and SA? Doesn’t make sence. Currently ENG is playing test series with ZIM and SA than they have Natwest series with ZIM and SA. So why in the middle there is Natwest Challenge of only 3 ODI with PAK? ![]()
Shoaib won’t be playing the first game ![]()

Best of luck Pakistan ![]()
It will be hard watching Pakistan play in England without Wasim bhai ![]()

Give Inzi, Latif, Younis, YoYo, Shoib, and Afridi one LAST chance. If they improve, good, if not "You are the weakest link, Good bye!"
^ ![]()
a1kashur bhia.. true.. atleast they should get one last chance under javaid miandad.. we sure need a best opening pair.. best out of best.. they should bring saeed in the team elseeee england team will just knock us out ![]()
is thr anyway we can email javaid miandad???
Javed Miandad + Shahid Afridi = One Deadly force.
Teaser, I ordered the Bank Alfalah Cup on PPV for 99.99, and the broadcast didn't end till the final but they even showed the 1st Test between Zimbabwe and England, and the channel is still not blocked, so I think they might just end up showing the whole Zim vs Eng and Pak vs Eng series.
Rightnow, England is only playing with Zimbabwe. They just got done with 1st Test Match as the Second Test Match is on it’s way.
Yes, it will kicks off as the NatWest Challenge of Pakistan vs England finishes. 5 Test Match series b/w England and South Africa will be played in July-Sep after NatWest Series (England, South Africa and Zimbabwe)
There were some political tension b/w the Govt. of England and Zimbabwe. Remember, England refused to play with Zimbabwe in Zimbabwe in the recent WC? In protest, Zimbabwe Cricket Board were about to boycott tour of England, but, then afterwards, deal made out 'cause if Zimbabwe boycotted the tour, England would have lost millions of pounds. That’s how NatWest Challenge sumed up.
Anyway, it’s good to hear Inzi and Azhar are gonna have place in the squad for England tour. Main focus is on Inzi but selectors are keeping their eyes on Mehmood as he’s been terrific in the County Cricket. ![]()
Aamir Sohail, and the selector committe will decide on Tuesday.
But the main problem for them would be, who’ll likely to take Number 1, 2 and 3 spots. Selectors have got to really dig up and solved the opening pair slot.
Inzamam, Azhar possibly on the comeback trail
KARACHI: The national cricket selection committee headed by Aamer Sohail will meet in Lahore on Tuesday to finalise the touring squad for England with the main focus of discussion to be on the possible recall of veteran batsman Inzamam-ul-Haq.
‘The News’ has learnt that while most of the players who recently returned from Sri Lanka will be retained for next month’s tour, it is the possible recall of Inzamam and all-rounder Azhar Mahmood that will dominate the selectors’ discussions.
“Azhar definitely is a strong candidate to make the squad to England because he has been performing very well for his county in England and the captain and coach have also put in a good word for him with the selectors,” said a source close to the selectors.
“Another argument in his favour is that he is portrayed as a good team man with the right attitude and that he has always performed well in English conditions,” the source confided.
“But it is on the selection of Inzamam that the selectors remain undecided as he has not played much after the World Cup,” he added.
According to him, Inzamam would feature in the discussions but the selectors might decide to wait on him for a few months more as the team management has in its feedback to the Board and selectors indicated that it wants the same set of players who went to Sharjah and Sri Lanka to be given chances in English conditions.
“As it is Pakistan has a line-up of eight Test matches and more One-day Internationals slotted up to January 2004 and the feeling is that Inzamam should be confined to the Test team,” the source said.
“There is no difference of opinion on the majority of the players but it is the opening slot which needs serious attention and the team management has also indicated that this problem needs to be resolved.”
The source said that the selectors are not likely to have any problems on retaining Mohammad Hafeez as he is a multi-dimensional player but the axe might fall on Taufeeq Umar to accommodate either Imran Nazir or Imran Farhat as one of the openers.
**“Since Yasir Hameed did reasonably well in Sri Lanka at the number three position and with Faisal Iqbal in the back up it is unlikely these two would be dropped for the England tour,” ** the source disclosed.
Since the World Cup, Pakistan appears to have found ample bowling resources in Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Sami, Shabbir Ahmed, Umar Gul and Danish Kaneria backed up by the all-rounders and the middle and late order batting has also been satisfactory, but it is for the number one to three positions that the selectors need to rack their brains.
If PCB added Inzi, Azhar Mahmood & Imran Nazir then most likey Abdul Razzaq, Tufeeq and Faisal Iqbal or Faisal Athar will be Axe
01 Mohd Hafeez
02 Imran Nazir or Imran Farhat
03 Yaseer Hameed
04 Inzi or Faisal Iqbal
05 Yoyo
06 Azhar Mahmood
07 Shoaib Malik
08 Rashid Latif
09 Mohd Sami
10 Shaoib Akhtar
11 Umar gul
12 Younis Khan
13 Shabbir Ahmed
14 Danish Keneria
15 Faisal Athar
wtfff! why r they ignoring saeed for? i truly hate this amir sohial guy. he is sucha jerk!!
he was never a good player and now showing his true colors as being a honest perosn!
PCB is just full of F'in bunch of jokers!
truly sad to drop saeed at his last stage :(
I think Saeed can help younster especialy Imran Nazir, Imran Farhat, Mohd Hafeez, Faisal Athar, he should be in the team.
forget saeed, he is the thing of the past and we need to look for the future, even if he does perform well for pakistan currently, we are aiming for a good stable team in Wc 2007, and saeed won't be around then so we need young players and winning isn't the important thing anymore.
Here is who i think should be picked for the english tour.
Rashid Latif (WK)
Yousuf Youhana (Batsman)
Younis Khan (Batsman)
Shoaib Akhtar (Bowler)
Inzimam ul Haq (Batsman)
Saqlain Mushtaq (Bowler)
Azhar Mahmood (All Rounder)
Abdul Razzaq (All Rounder)
Muhammad Sami (Bowler)
Shoaib Malik (All Rounder)
Muhammad Hafeez (All Rounder)
Yassir Hameed (Batsman/WK)
Dinesh Kaneria (Bowler)
Faisal Iqbal (Batsman)
Imran Nazir (Batsman)
Here is who I think the best available team to open for Pakistan.
Muhammad Hafeez
Yasir Hameed / Imran Nazir
Yousuf Youhana
Inzimam ul Haq / Faisal Iqbal
Younis Khan
Shoaib Malik
Azhar Mahmood / Abdul Razzaq
Rashid Latif
Shoaib Akhtar
Muhammad Sami
Saqlain Mushtaq / Dinesh Kaneria
It will be interesting to see who will be dropped from current team, I think Shabbir Ahmed, Taufeeq Umar, Umar Gul and Faisal Athar failed to impress their selectors to make way for Saqlain, Inzi, Azhar and Nazir.

yeah..Rashid Latif should be given a chance.
I think Misbah deserves to be included in the upcoming tour. His exclusion from the team was not really justified. I'd probably stick with Umair's team seletion except for bringing in Misbah for Faisal.

I agree, I totally forgot about him. Mizbah's exclusion for Sri Lanka was very unjustified, he has done very well everytime he has been given a chances, he is averiging into 40s, he did well in PSO tournament in kenya against Aus, he did well in Champions Trophy match against SL, and he also did well in Sharjah, so whats the fuss.

I think thats a pretty good team for the most part. But I think if Saqlain comes back into the team, I think Kaneria will be dropped since Since Hafeez and Shoaib are definetly going to be in the playing 11. I dont think Pakistan needs to have 4 spinners in the playing 11. So if Saqlain doesn't come back, there is very strong posibility that Kaneria will play. Also, with Javed Miandad as the coach of the team, I would like to see Afridi come back into the squad in the future, because under Miandad, Afridi played the best cricket of his life.
When I look back at my team, I see that besides Sami and Akhtar, there is no genuine fast bowler, I mean Razzaq and Azhar will be good for part time bowling but we need another speedy in there, maybe a fast bowler in there for Saqlain might be good.
NEWS UPDATE:
inzi is not being selected for the team....
azhar is definitely in....
chances r that imran nazir and misbah-ul-haq mght be recalled....
my guess, if they come back, misbah will replace faisal iqbal and nazir will replace taufiq umar (surprised eh?)....
also, new faces that might be in are farhan adil (who has already been a star in the young teams and has been playing in england too) and all rounder bilal asad....
faisal athar and razzaq will not be dropped....
umar gul or kaneria, one of em has to go, if shoaib akhtar doesnt....
PT bhai thanx for the explanation. I hope they include Inzi I miss his shots and it would be lovely to see Inzi taking on the English on lush greenish ground and fast pitches :k:
