**Pakistan tops the list in UN peacekeeping **03-01-2005
WASHINGTON: Pakistan now leads the world in having the largest number of troops deployed for United Nations peacekeeping duties, according to an official UN report.
On January 7, with the arrival and deployment of a Pakistan Army brigade in the Congo, Pakistan will have 8,395 soldiers and officers doing UN duty in the world’s worst trouble spots. The second country on the list in terms of the largest number of troops on UN assignment is Bangladesh. Khalid Hasan
See the great work done by a great Muslim nation, Pakistan - the only Islamic Superpower. Why the can’t the big elephant, Hindustan, with it’s massive army also help the world instead of using it’s Hindu army to kill and murder it’s own people on daily basis?.. 250,000 Christians burnt alive and murdered in Assam alone.
if one chooses to ignore the "commentary" by S&C, it is indeed a good thing to see pakistan taking an active role in helping wirh these international needs.
Kudos.
PS: can we just stay on the topic rather than going off on the same old BS again.
"Since when you started to care so much about India and Hindus?"
Frankly, it is good to see so much participation by Pakistan. Good on 'em....
However, while Pakistan fights internally, rebels in Baluchostan blow up pipelines, grenades are lobbed in mosques and churches, radical Islamic idiots hate everyone, India is building quite a reputation for commerce and high tech. Who would do business in Pakistan when you risk your life as a westerner? Ultimately the rivalry between India and Pakistan will be decided based on the power of economies, just like the cold war. India will win.
Any source of this piece of information. You post some nice articles but why do you have to give your stupid comment.
250K christians killed according to you, that is like 1% of total christian population ind india. You think pope is gonna sit quitely.
I know you wont reply because you never do.
It good to see all the desis responding open mindedly to the issues brought up by you .
UN has always used third world countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh for peace keeping. No other countries are willing to send their soliders and get them killed. America only promises to input some money but never do.
India sends its toops to show that it is involved in world matters and hence deserves permanent un seat, pakistan sends troops to improve its image in the world and bangladesh sends its troops to get that money which is paid by un to the soliders.
It seems that our intrests has kept UN alive so far.
Actually this type of view has developed due to poor PR and crisis management by the
authorities, if you actually do some research, you will find that apart from the typical
sensationalism cause by the press and local law enforcement agencies, there is no specific threat
to foreigners in the Major Cities of Pakistan. If we are to exclude Karachi due to the rise in
crimes and its volatile past. However many security analysts especially the boffins Brookings
tend to paint a picture that is void of any real ground work. A good source of Information is http://www.stat-usa.gov/nct_all.nsf/Search?OpenForm..
It has many reports with complete market analysis, and risk awareness reviews! Unfortunately you have to pay for em!
A couple of months I was looking after a couple of Execs from TeleNor: a Norway telecomms company operating in Pakistan, they asked me the same question… Are we in any real danger, and my simple answer to them as their consultant was, if you are to apply your commonsense, you should be ok! In Islamabad, it is very common to see foreigners mingling with the locals in the busy markets and commercial/leisure districts.
In Karachi, there is a considerable ammount of Chinese Expats who work on several projectssuch as power and mineral extraction.
However, although its not uncommon that foreigners will arise some increased curiosity andmaybe even unwanted attention, most of the time is a very harmless and poses no threat, however one must strongly state that… Being aware, and deliberately seeking trouble are two different things entirely.
um, what on earth are you so proud of? these pakistani UN “peacekeepers” have developed a reputation of being rapists and sexual predators. in fact, i read an article about it on CNN just a week ago. they should keep these jackasses at home if that’s their objective. they are shaming your country, yet you pridefully broadcast their deployment.
