Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

And when exactly pakistan is planing to make things like.
hmmmm i don't know
like machine to dig people out frow the ground after earthquake??
or a big scissor to cut a car so people trapped after accident can be saved??
or
fire engine who actually have water in them??

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

Allah O Akbar… :jhanda: mahAllah one of the greatest achievments in this era
Thanks to Pak and China Engineers, Mr. TMA and Thanks to President Musharraf and his vision for Pakistan

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

^^

Its all thanks to great president Mushrraf...who is making fighter jets in basement. :D Btw, we have minimum input in this project. The work is done by Chinese and the aircraft engines are from Russia. What are we manufacturing?

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

^^ any source on Pakistan Minimum effort or less then 50% ?

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

It is a good move, hopefully this project will become independent of China sometime in future.

BTW, what are the features of this plane? How does it fare comparing to other state-of-art technologies?

Equipment you are talking about are not "defense" related. No fire engine runs with water in them, may be they do, I am not too educated about them... but what I have seen here in US they use special outlets for fire-fighting on roadsides.

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

Military comes first in Pakisatn, the actual people are the last priority

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

I believe that JF-17 is as good as (or could be better than :)) F-16 A/B block ... though it might not be as good as F-16 C/D block.

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

Wouldn't investing in infastructure, and helping reduce poverty, opening up schools be better than investing in machines that kill people?

When thats fixed, then I'll say MashAllah and InshAllah.

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

one of my close friend computer eng in PAF has worked on different chips installed in this planes
and we know he is genius

Chinese don't know much about american technologies that have been integerated in this along with russion/chinese to take dual advantage :)

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

Whats the variant of Stinger Missile (US technology) that was made by Pak???? how different is it from original

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

I'll believe it when we start manufacturing the JF-17s engines. Until then its all feel good story w/o much substance....

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

The difference between Russian made Engines and US made Jet Engines is the Hot sections or Turbines last much longer. Russian Engines last only half as long as the US made.......

Re: Pakistan to start JF-17 Thunder production from tomorrow - Allahu Akbar

well todays age, transfer of technology is a norm. no one go back to basics and start from scratch with steam engine powered cars first then grdually you have developed new engines after 1 or 2 centuries. only that will make you happy.

a Country who hasnt got real infrastructure to build even proper toys, you are expacting it to start making fighter jets over night or in a years time.

even todays age, no company or country make complete aircrafts and I am talking about Airbus and boeing here, e.g, boeing engines are from rolls royace from UK. Airbus has several countries contributions for all planes.

so you can just ditch this humble but great step in the right direction.

PAF to induct 8 JF aircraft by end this year: Air Chief
*Tuesday, January 22, 2008 *

KAMRA (APP): Chief of Air Staff Pakistan Air Force Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed on Tuesday said PAF would induct 8 JF-17 Thunder aircraft by end of this year. The fighter aircraft is being indeginously assembled with the cooperation of China.

Addressing the launching ceremony for manufacturing of JF-17 Thunder sub-Assemblies, marking formal assembling of the fighter aircraft, at Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed said around 60 % of the frame of the aircraft while up to 80 % of the avionics to be fitted in the aircraft would be manufactured in the country by 2010.

He said PAC has all plans to make JF-17 Thunder the world’s first weapon system that will be able to carry all types of conventional weapons targeting from air to air, air to ground, air to sea and to pound from the air.

He said this state of the art, multipurpose, light combat aircraft, would be a complete combination of fighter and a weapon system which would also have optional capability to carry non-conventional weapons.

**He said PAF would induct 150 aircraft in its inventory in the first phase,in accordance with the already signed agreement with the Chines company, cooperating Pakistan in assembling and manufacture of the aircraft.

“Still we will require some 100 aircraft, as the PAC envisages to take the yearly assembling and manufacturing capability of the aircraft from at present 8 aircraft to 15 then up to 25 by 2011,”** he said.

Air Chief Marshal Tanvir Mahmood Ahmed said “all JF-17 Thunders will have to be produced in Pakistan as PAC has achieved the capability to assemble, paint the frame and aircraft besides conducting flight tests.”

He said on March 23, (Pakistan Day) the indeginously assembled aircraft would take part in the fly past, a routine feature of Pakistan day parade of PAF.

He said around 40 to 50 aircraft would have avionics of Chinese origin while in the next batch these would have indigenously developed avionics. He said in the next decade the aircraft would be available for re-export through China and the share in the financial receipts would be paid to Pakistan.

After formal inauguration of the sub-assemblies of the aircraft the Air Chief told media persons that PAC in the next two years would achieve the capability to make the fighter a “warfare suite” that would be matching to the needs of most of the countries in the sector.

He said the alphabets “J & F” included as title of the aircraft denoting “Joint Fighter” and “we will prove that this Joint Fighter is the best available in the market.”

He thanked the friendly country of China for extending all cooperation enabling Pakistan to achieve the cherished goal towards manufacturing of a fighter aircraft.

He said JF-17 Thunder is a living example of Pakistan-China friendship and this will help further deepen the bonds existed between both the brotherly and friendly countries.

Terming it a landmark achievement, he said, it is not only a source of pride for Pakistan but also a measure of rare distinction for the country to have joined a selected group of nations having indigenous fighter aircraft production capability.

The project launched in 2000 has already made major strides including first flight of prototype in August 2003, then in April 2004, and on May 10 2006 with fully integrated configurations.

Later in September 20006, the prototype-6 of the aircraft made its maiden flight paving the way for smooth flight testing process ever since. In order to speed up the development progress and facilitate maturity of the aircraft, two J-17 of the small batch production were received in Pakistan on March 21 last. Subsequently, these aircraft made their debut by participating in Pakistan Day Parade on March 23.

Earlier, in his address of welcome, Chairman PAC Air Marshal Khalid Chaudary said PA has all the capability to achieve the goals with the help and assistance of Chinese engineers and technicians.

He said the factory has created employment opportunities for around 5000 skillful workers and around 80 % of them are already on job.

The ceremony was attended by Secretary Defence Production Division, Lt Gen® Shahid Sidique Timizi, Vice President of Chinese Aircraft ManufacturingCompany, Defence Attache of China in Islamabad and a large number senior Militaryofficers.
