After getting so many loan write offs recently ,i am sure that pakistan is willing to send its troops to iraq.
^^..... and after the appointment of Ashraf Jahangir Qazi as the UN representative in Iraq and repeated statements by our information minister regarding considering the sending of troops is making me definate that Pakistan is abt to make this blunder

Troops to Iraq if it’s in national interest: Public opinion to be considered - Ashraf Qazi
Ashraf Jehangir Qazi tries to clarify the misperceptions and speaks about his appointment as the UN special envoy.
well these r just diplomatic statements
jo hoona hay wo to usse tarah se ho ga jaisay govt. per presure ho ga
i heard today that information minister sheikh rasheed has said that even if they do send troops to iraq they will be volunteers and not our soldiers? the perception is that knowing the poverty in pakistan, there prolly will be quite a few ppl who will agree to go as volunteers too...
hmmm...i guess we shud just wait and see what happens...i hope inshallah tho that no pakistanis go to iraq
yeah we dont want our troops killed by the spineless *******s who have been kidnapping and killing civilians and their own govt officials now.

but how can u say for sure who's behind those kidnappings?
Pak to send troops to Iraq on condition
UNITED NATIONS: Pakistan has indicated interest in contributing troops to protect the world body's personnel and facilities in Iraq provided the interim government requests for them and other Islamic countries also have troops on the ground.
UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said there were about three or four countries that had indicated some interest and that he himself had spoken to some leaders "who seemed interested but had certain conditions," including Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf.
Annan indicated that Pakistan "would be prepared to contribute if the request were to come from the Iraqi interim government, and if there were other Islamic troops on the ground, because they would not want to be the only Islamic force on the ground." There are discussions going on about the deployment of troops from other Islamic countries but "I don't think that has been brought to closure yet," Annan told reporters on Wednesday.
Replying to a question, a few countries have indicated some interest in sending troops but no one has as yet come up with the size of force it is prepared to deploy.
"Consultations and discussions are going on. I have spoken to some who seemed interested but had certain conditions," he added. Annan announced last week that Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, who had been Pakistan's ambassador to the US, would be the new UN envoy to Iraq.
Is this true?
^ Do you have any other conspiracy theory? I have no doubt that these sick minded twits are defaming islam (doesnt matter who is behind manipulating them or they are defaming islam intentionally or unintentionally through somse twisted concepts). I hope we dont end up sending our troops there in current situation. But oh well lets see.
There's already a thread in Pak Affairs so moved there.

oh... i was not aware of the exisitng thread...
can i just withdraw it then coz it does not make much sense to have 2 separate threads on the same issue...:)
What would you expect from a nation that is sleeping. We made u turns, the nation was fooled by a sharaabi president. there was a time i loved our armed forces. now they do not even deserve to be looked at. The policies of our enemies are fast materialising - the nation hates the army, nobody to defend and make 4 pieces of pakistan, + no ally in the region.
Shame on us that we become quiet and do whatever they want as long as we get more loans.....bhikaari qaum.
here is some more that i found

No troops for Iraq, says Shujaat
About sending troops to Iraq, Shujaat said: “I have said more than 100 times and repeat it again that the government has no intention of sending troops to Iraq. Even the president is not inclined to take such a decision. However, any decision in this regard will be taken keeping in view the sentiments of the nation,” he added.
Replying to a question about a Saudi proposal of sending troops to Iraq, the prime minister said that the issue was being widely discussed in the Muslim world but nothing had been finalised as yet.
