The Asian Cricket Council has unveiled Pakistan as the next hosts of the six-nation Asia Cup, which will take place in February 2006. It is the first time they will have hosted the competition.
The two-week tournament begins on February 14, and will feature two pools of three teams. The first will be made up of Pakistan, India and Oman, while the second will include Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates.
“The full programme will be announced shortly,” said Ashrafaul Haq, the ACC’s chief executive. “Since the normalisation of the Indo-Pak relations last year, Asian cricket is flourishing, and the better relations augurs well for Asian cricket.”
The first-round matches will be played at Rawalpindi and Karachi, while the second round and the final will be played in Lahore. Sri Lanka, who hosted the last competition, are also the current holders, having beaten India by 25 runs in the final in Colombo.

yeah it will very difficult to digest again the matches between 2 sides in 2006. I guess Pak india serires will end on Feb 15 and asia cup will start on feb 18. But I guess we won't be seeing these 2 teams clashing against each other in test series for a long time after that. I guess acoording to ICC ten year plan the next series between the 2 sides after 2006 will be in 2009.

Hey guys guess what, Pakistan might play 3 games with India in the 2006 Asia cup in Feb 06. So these matches will be in addition to the test series and ODI series that will held in Jan-Feb 2006. That will bring the total number ODI to 23 between the two sides since April 2004.

You never know PCB and BCCI, they 'll organize some sorta tournament in between… that 3 years gap will be too long for them.

Definitely yes, they will. You never know they will start organising the matches betwwen them in Abu Dhabi on regular basis.
