Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

Did our nuclear tests change anything?

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

^^ yes, we still have a country called Pakistan.

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

LETS throww mushheyy on the mooonnn

:d

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

because Indians are already on the moon

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

i think pakistan should concentrate more on building infrastructure like schools, university, hospitals, research and development, building roads that are accessible all over pakistan, develop balochistan and secure our borders and end the drug trade, civil strife, etc...

i dont mean that pakistan needs to bring these things to a zero percentage, but at a certain level that they do not occupy pakistan's agenda and only then can pakistan concentrate on the moon and other such endevours

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

^ thankfully this thinking did not prevent pak from becoming a nuclear power.
keep working o all aspects of agenda. with a space program, aside from the potential commerical and military advantages, it also develops a grossroots level R&D infrastructure, it may attarct talent back home..etc etc. so dont sacrifice other things for its sake. make it an academia, private and public sector collaborative effort and lets see. why write it off altogether.

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

:k:

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

I like the thinking but its certainly a far cry. Its ain't happening anytime in the near future, that's for sure. But, as I said, such progressive thinking is definitely a good thing.

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

Guys Nuclear plan and "Moon plan" are very very different and are not relevant to eachother. Becoming a nuclear power was necesary for our survival so despite our problems we went for it. Putting a man on moon surely doesnt fall in the same catagory. Yes launching a satellite does make sense so we can air our views and make our opinion known. But before we jump on moon there are much more important things to be done.

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

All please stop here.

every big project get some thinking, you all start jumping, no we dont want that. for this or the other reason AND at the end you dont get anything! Thats fact.

SUPARCO is not founded today, it has already sent its first own developed satellite BADAR - I about 10 years ago. If it has been working properly we wouldnt have to buy a 2nd class satellite from Turkey to fill the space alloted to Pakistan by International Space Agency.

satellite brings revenues, these are used for TV, cable, Phone, weather, and other secure broadcasting. The problem here is we dont see a big picture.

Visions are acheived by conviction and hard work to acheive it.

by all of your logic we shouldnt have access to Internet and have computers in Pakistan cause we should put these funds to schools and health first.
Definitly we need more schools and hospitals. but that doesnt mean we have to stop our thinking ahead and only do this when we have 100% literacy rate. by that time we could send serveral satellites in space , generate more revenue from other countries and provide cheap communication birng further investments. and this can fuel job creation and more funds available to much needed infrastructure in the country.

every thing has to be done in parallel not one after the other! cause we have lost much time already.

We have good institutes SUPARCO another one waste of space PCSIR (www.pcsir.gov.pk), have they done good work in the past we would have been at different level.

some institutes worked ie KRL, PINSTEC etc and acheived what we have expacted from them.

We may not need to put man on the moon but we certainly need to look to build on our missle/rocket technology and launch satellites.

those who all concerned why space . sell their computers, buy books for needy kids in Pakistan. That social change can be done by community and provincial governments. Health and basic education comes under province anyway.

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

Most definitely, it's not.

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

Figure I believe is 30%, but Pakistan already can produce multi stage rockets. It just need to add more stages.

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

Today's dream, tomorrow's reality ...

A good step indeed, if the leader says there's hope than maybe we can instill the idea in the common minds too, whom have been until now thinking it impossible. Somehow all this talk may possibly inspire space exploration.

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

Great news.

I request mushrrraf to go there and spent rest of his life thier with his team.

Leave pakistan.

Though i doubt that this will happen as there is still no proper satellite launch pad in pakistan(which may take another few years) and then the big leap will take another few years.

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

He has not explored his own people and country and going to explore moon!!!! What he wants to explore in moon, rocks!!! Stupid man. He should be more concerned about people's welfare, jobs, clean water, electricity, education, healthcare etc.

FARID

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

so we should only think about any thing hi tech only when we are developed nation?? 100% literacy rate, clean water, etc . so we should stop every mega project in the country and wait for another 30 -40 year, put everything into education and health.
and at the end of 30 years we will have a surpluss of educated kids with no jobs or future cause mega institutes, projects or any other job creating projects

we need to work parallel on every front. there is no time to do this first and dont do this at all.
invest in mega projects along with welfare projects, generate revenue, generate jobs for masses. people can then forget hunger and send kids to school which they cant at the moment.

  • Dont develop gawader - cause it doesnt give much to Sardars
  • Dont make kalabagh dams - cause we are happy to take floods every other year, but we dont want to store this water! cause whole sindh or blochistan will be dry. watch news for this dryness.
  • Dont make motorways
  • dont get high speed trains - cause our thinking is limited to tonga and manual phatak

Fact is we dont get sincere leaders, we get some total evils, BB and NS and some less evils like Mushy.

Whatever we can get out of these is better cause we will not get anything at all if we say no to everything.

Dont say no to mega projects.
DO say yes to this and also welfare projects for people.

Saying no to mega will not guarantee that they will put this money for people for fact.

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

If you knew any science, you would realize how important a mineral and energy source the moon can be,

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

while you think your a genius, the majority of Pakistanis don't even have clean water.

This is a ridiciulous plan that will never come into fruition

Re: Pakistan to explore the moon: Musharraf

Pakistani water is monitored in detail, that is why the reports of poor water came out. Compare to African, even Asian countries who do not have such analysis. It’s much better and the purifiers have been manufactured and are purifying.

On the subject of being capable enough, SLV design has long been developed in Pakistan.
