maybe not exactly apples to apples here in terms of vulgarity and usage but it still is not a proper word to use when referring to people. It is still repulsive.
With all due respect to their origins, they came from India and thats wat they call people in India affecionately- I am unable to figure out whats wrong in the usage when you have no bad intentions.. why and when the term became derrogatory is hard to understand.
