Pakistan thrash Sri Lanka
to annex Under-15 Asia Cup

SHARJAH: Pakistan won the Under-15 Asia Cup after defeating Sri Lanka by 46 runs in the final at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.
Raza Ali Dar of Pakistan was declared Man of the Match for his excellent all-round performance. Raza Ali Dar was the architect of this great victoryas he scored 76 runs with the help of three boundaries and four huge sixes off 55 balls.
Earlier, after winning the toss, Pakistan elected to bat first and hit up a good total of 233 for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 40 overs.
Suleman Ali contributed useful 24 with three boundaries while Salman Akbar played a forceful knock of 49 runs studded with eight hits to the fence off 63 balls. For Sri Lanka, Shalika took two for 47 while Suresh, Rajeev, Malinda and Sachitra claimed one wicket apiece.
Needing 234 runs to win, Sri Lanka failed to reach the desired target and were all out for 187 runs in 40 overs. Opener Sachetra was the highest scorer whose 40 runs were studded with seven hits through the ropes.
Thalenda made 27 which included five boundaries. For Pakistan, Fayyaz Ahmed was the pick of he bowlers capturing three wickets for 30 runs.
Raza Ali Dar took 2 for 30.
With this victory the Pakistan emerged as the only undefeated team in the Asia Cup.
